Chapter 12

Elton's POV:

Seeing Kat and Sam practically in war, I hate it a lot. I got up and called Kat.

"What's wrong?" Kat asked me. 

"You need to get back with Sam." I told her.

"Wait.. what? I thought what we had was special," Kat stated, knowing she was about to cry. Wow I'm such a dick. What's wrong with me? Right, I have ADD. 

"I think you and Sam do belong together. I mean come on, you guys can't just waste three whole years together. And besides, right after we graduate I'm going off to college a-crossed the country," I explained to her as nicely as I could.

"Okay. I'll see you at school on Monday, right?" Kat said and asked me. I heard her crying on the other end of the phone. Damn. She definitely knows how to make someone feel guilty. I need to stop playing it's all her fault card. 

"Yeah, of course," I answered. "See ya then Kat. Don't give up on Sam ok? Sam is important to you, I know that."

"Okay, alright... See you then," Kat said and hung up. I sighed heavily and received a text from Sam then Colby.

Colby and I are dating. (Sam)

Sam and I are dating... (Colby)

Is this really happening? I decided to call Sam. 

"Are you guys really together?" I asked Sam immediately knowing he picked up the phone.

"Uh, yeah... That's kinda why I broke up with Kat. Because I realized I had feelings for Colby. I kissed him last night too." Sam answered nervously. "Don't you dare tell Kat. She'll be devastated. She doesn't believe in the same gender dating whole idea."

"I won't, but she will find out soon knowing her. Speaking of her, I broke up with her," I confessed to Sam.

"Wait, why?" Sam asked me. 

"I told her that.... you both belong together and that I was going to college in California after we graduate," I informed him. "Um...."

"Oh god Elton. Now she's gonna kill me if she finds out I'm gay," Sam panicked.

"What's going on?" I heard Colby ask on the other end of the phone. 

"Elton broke up with Kat," Sam told him. 

"Kat's already broken enough. Her parents divorced and right after her father committed suicide. Elton you need to take her back, seriously. Now is not a good time for break-ups for her," Colby practically yelled at me through the phone. Colby was clearly upset on the other end of the phone and Sam was trying to calm him down. 

"Are you serious?" I asked running my hand through my hair. I had no idea her father killed himself. That's why I've only been seeing her mother. That's exactly the reason why her mother is the only adult around. God I need Kat too. Sam and Colby were right. I need to take her back. 

"Let me go fix this, I'll call you back with results," I told them. I sounded like a doctor waiting for test results from a lab to come back. 

"Okay, better be nice to her." Sam snapped. "Kat's been through enough, so don't be a complete dick to her."

"Got it. Thanks," I stated and hung up on them. 

This was really happening, my two guy best friends are dating.

Things can't possibly get any worse.
