Chapter 20

Colby's POV:

I stayed over at Aaron's and Sophie's apartment for a few days to calm myself down and to pull my shit back together. I left Sam, without saying anything. I need him but he just left a few bruises on me from throwing me up against the wall a couple nights ago.

"Colby? You okay?" Aaron asked me.

"Yeah. I just miss Sam," I answered.

"I'm sure he's had enough time to calm himself down," Aaron remarked. "Sophie and I will go with you if you want."

"Please," I begged and he nodded. 

"Sophie! Colby wants to see Sam!" Aaron called and she was downstairs in a jiffy.

"Okay, let's go," Sophie demanded. 

I knocked on the front door to Sam's house and his mother answered with worried eyes.

"He's been upstairs for the past few days. He's been really depressed." His Mom explained. "You can visit him, but don't say I didn't warn you."

I nodded nervously and slowly made my way upstairs. Sam was washing his face in the bathroom as I looked over.

"Sam?" I asked.

"Colby.. what are you doing here?" Sam asked harshly. "You left me." Sam began crying. 

"To calm down for a little bit," I answered. "I love you Sam, just please forgive me. You really scared me."

"I waited and waited for you to come home!" Sam sobbed. "And then you appear out of nowhere asking me for your forgiveness?!"

I kissed him and he responded back, pulling me into him more. I couldn't be without him any longer. 

"Yay!" Sophie screeched and ruined the romantic moment. 

"I knew you two would eventually make up," Aaron said. "You guys barely fight, what was the fight about anyways?"

Sam's eyes became cold and angry as Aaron asked.

"You didn't hear about Kat?" Sam asked angrily. 

"Oh....." Aaron said looking at his feet. "Yeah. I did hear about her, but I wasn't really close with her. I'm really sorry for your loss Sam."

"I just want to sleep," Sam said and walked away from the three of us.

"Wow this is really affecting him," His mother said to me after I explained what happened. "I might bring him to counseling or something."

"i don't want to lose him," I explained to her. "You know about us right?"

"Well no duh, Sam talks about you all the time," She said and grinned. "I love how you are so caring about everyone, even it if just means taking a short break. Sam will be fine once he's able to talk to someone professional about this situation. Kat was a brave, good, and strong young lady. She would've gone to Early Childhood Education training if she made it to college."

"She likes kids?" I confirmed. "She seemed to sassy and harsh for that."

"My exact thoughts when Sam informed me when he was dating her awhile back," She replied. "Stop by tomorrow night for dinner okay kiddo? We'll have some pizza and soda."

"Okay, sounds good. Thank you. Tell Sam I said that I love him," I told her and she grinned.

"Of course I will." She said and closed the door behind me.
