Dustin’s POV

I was sitting in my room, my guitar on my lap. I scribbled out the words I’d just written down. I was writing a new for me and Kendall to sing. We were in a band together, called Heffron Drive. We weren’t an incredibly well known band but we had fans, and they liked us. That was all that mattered.

I put the guitar down and trudged downstairs to my computer. I was only in town with Kendall, James, Carlos and Logan for a week, and I didn’t even know where they were! Kendall was somewhere in town at his brother’s new house, James was sitting talking to mates on twitter, Logan was doing the guys homework and Carlos was away trying to cool down. What was the point in coming to see your mates when none of them were up for hanging out?

I opened up the internet and logged onto Twitter and Youtube. I quickly looked up a few good songs and put them in my play list. For some reason I was always inspired when I listened to music, rather than played it. I replied to a few people’s comments on our Heffron Drive videos and I replied to a few people on Twitter, but I was so bored that I just gave up and lay face down on Kendall’s couch for what I thought was a few minutes.

I was just lying on the couch when suddenly my whole head vibrated. I’d just got a text and my phone was under the cushion that my head was on. I pulled the phone out to read the text to discover I’d been face down on the couch for about half an hour… Oops. The text was from Kendall.

“Hey, you comin’ down to the beach?”

I decided I might as well because the other guys wouldn’t miss out on a chance to go to the beach. I replied quickly.

“Hey dude. Yeahh I’ll come down. Thought you were at your brother’s house? See you in five J”

He must have been waiting for my reply because my phone vibrated again almost instantly. Kendall had replied saying he hadn’t been able to find the house so he was just going to chill out at the beach. I grabbed my stuff, pick up my keys and left. I was heading down the street in my car, music blaring from the radio. I didn’t realise just how close to the kerb I was, but I must have been far too close because as I passed a young girl walking along the street. My wing mirror hooked onto the strap of her bag and whipped it off of her shoulder. I saw the bag and looked in the mirror to see the girl slumping onto the edge of the sidewalk with her head in her hands.

When I’d unhooked the bag and turned the car around I headed back down the street to where the girl was still sitting. I quickly checked to make sure her bag was okay. It was just my luck that there was a great big scratch along the side. I took out $50 and put it in the bag. I quickly wrote a little note saying I’d left her some money for a new bag.

I got out of the car and crouched down in front of the girl. She looked up at me, and I realised how beautiful she was. I didn’t think I’d ever see a girl that pretty.

“Sorry, my wing mirror hooked onto the strap of you bag.” I said as I gave her back the bag.

Just as I was about to introduce myself, I got a text from Kendall. He wasn’t about to cancel on me was he?

“If it’s not too late to ask can you pick up Logan?” I read, as I got back in the car.

I didn’t reply; Logan’s was just around the corner so did I really have to?

I spotted Logan looking down the road. He was looking the wrong way so I took my chance. I pulled up behind him silently and watched him jump out of his skin as he saw me sitting in the car. He sat down, but jumped up quickly when his back pocket vibrated. He quickly replied to whoever texted him and we sped off down the street towards the beach.
