"Red?" I ask.
"Don't!" Red snapped back looking away from him for a moment. "Don't." I saw the tears on her cheeks. "You killed my mother! You forced me to grow up alone! Without anyone! You tortured my family! You held them against their will! But more than everything, you killed the person I once was. Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now."
"I don't have one. The things I have done are unforgivable. Kill me. Let me join her." Seth said looking into her eyes. "But before you do you have to know. If you do this. You will be as horrible as me."
"You wouldn't see her." Red kneed him between the legs and hit him on the forehead with the butt of the gun. He fell to the floor, unconscious. The gun fell out of her hand, and she ran down the hall and disappeared into the darkness.
No one moved as Red's footsteps faded into the distance. No one moved as we heard the elevator rise. No one breathed as two police officers stepped into the hall.
