So I wasn't thinking. Not about the consequences, the stares, anything that could come after. All I knew was that I wasn't going to let Amber cry all alone. So imagine, if you will, a large red dog running after a small red cross between a cat and a dog. Just looking out your bedroom window onto the street in front of your house and seeing me, a wolf, chasing Amber, a fox.

I don't know how far we went. We cut through backyards and sprinted across freeways. at some point, we stopped going downhill and started going up. there was a large clearing made to put the power lines over the empty hill. We stayed to the tree line but at this point Amber let me trot next to her. It's always a little weird to look down at her, standing barely to my stomach as she keeps her nose to the ground. Being that when we are in our human form she stands an easy three maybe four inches taller than me.

When she finally did stop it had started raining. We had made it to an old abandoned boxcar and crawled inside. We shifted back to human and other than our pretty soaked hair we were dry. We sat in the rusted metal box for a while. Watching as the rain fell onto the foliage. It was quiet and peaceful. My mind cleared and all I could think about was the pattern of the rain hitting the top of the car. So I nearly jumped when Amber spoke.

"He's back." She told me. I nodded even though I knew she hadn't seen it. She hadn't even looked over at me. "For good."

"What are we going to do?" I ask her.

"We are not doing anything. You are going to make sure that the crazy person, who helped give you life, can never hurt anyone ever again." She tells me. "And me? I don't know."

"You are right. I will go put Seth in his place. However, you are going to give Matt another chance. I saw the way he lit up when you walked into view and I have known you long enough to know you still want to be with him. He's a good guy. So go get him." I look at her. She looks back into the trees. (ODP: 7/9?18)
