She crawled back up the ladder and sat in front of the window. I don't fully remember how we made up but what was said was soon forgiven and Red started telling me what happened. I agreed when she said she thought he was just trying to get in her head. I think he was successful sadly. I saw her messing with her ring the rest of the day.

It was the next afternoon that she really seemed to be anxious. I figured it was Seth just in her head or the fact that my parents were supposed to get in any minute. We had been chilling out all day alternating between failing at Jakes video games and arguing over who should play the four player game. Red sat quietly twisting her ring while we debated. The doorbell rang and we all went silent. A reaction left from our time in the lab.

Jake came down the stairs and walked over to the front door. Not checking the peephole he opened the door.  A familiar voice started from the door.

"I don't-" the voice from beyond the door said.

"Sorry, no comment," Jake told them and started to close the door. Without a second thought, Red got up from the couch and ran to the door. (ODP: 6/24/18)
