Welcome to my very first Grayson Dolan fanfiction!
I am so very excited that you've come upon this novel whether you follow my social medias, heard about it, or simply stumbled on it while looking for a good book to read.
I would like to mention a few things:
-This is set in 1956. Racism is still a thing, even though slavery ended in 1865, people are still small-minded in this time period.
-The main character is a mixed teenage female
-Due to history, there will be racial slurs being passed around due to the law of interracial marriage being legal in 1967.
-I am a person of colour, however I am no place to say nor write these slurs and I will not use the racial terms unless it is useful for the chapter. They will be censored, please know.
-I am Canadian, I do not know American history THAT well, but I am doing research in order for this book to be perfect.
-I also understand that women did not get the right until the law was changed in 1920, however, some women after that time still enjoyed being housewives. So please respect the time period.
-Any negative comments WILL BE REPORTED; if you have a problem with what I write, please be mature and contact me or simply stop reading.
-I will be (*) any of the racial slurs. If it makes you uncomfortable, I apologize in advance.
-If you've read "To Kill A Mockingbird", you will survive reading this.
-I would never hate on a person due to their race, I would never say these disgusting terms in my life.I understand that it is almost 2018 and racism shouldn't be a thing anymore, but this is again, set in the 50's, so keep that in mind.
Overall, I hope you took the time to read the precautions and enjoy the novel!
