Chapter 18: Return

I slowly opened my eyes to discover I was alone. In the dark. In the silence. I sat up abruptly; getting my legs tangled in the blanket I didn't realise was there, my heart racing a little, apprehension already toying with me. There was no reason to be afraid I'm sure that someone was around here somewhere, whether that was the sleepwalking alien or the motherly brother I couldn't guess.

"J-Jin?" I murmured into the empty air. There was no answer and honestly, I don't think I expected one. Finally alone, I felt the weight of the past few days catch up to me, tugging tears from my eyes. The shadows started to move and form figures that swept across the floor towards me, I squeezed my eyes shut painfully tightly, they're not there Y/N, it's okay, you're safe, don't do this to yourself.

Sudden footsteps from behind me caused me to spin around, wide-eyed, at the source. There, bathed by the light of the hallway was a black cherry haired man. I couldn't stop the drops that slid down my cheeks at seeing him. Anyone would have been good but he was better.

"What's wrong Y/N?" he breathed, walking over to me before kneeling on the floor in front of me and lightly sliding his hands along my jawline and behind my ear, his thumb stroking the tears off my face. I met his eyes, which were full of concern and I flung my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me, the desire to feel the warmth and the safety his arms provided uncontrollable. He chuckled and rubbed my back soothingly, easing my erratic breaths and tears.

"I heard you missed me," he hummed in my ear, sending a buzz of electricity through me. I pulled away from his neck to look at him, his eyes now as soft as his hair and as warm as his body. I closed my eyes and felt myself nod ever so slightly before I felt one hand creep to the small of my back, the other running up my neck to hold my cheek again. Breathless at his touch, I opened my eyes to see him close, his minty breath lightly fanning my face. We held each other's gaze the air turning thick with tension as our breaths grew more ragged, his hitting my face more frequently.

He drew closer still, his lips brushing mine until suddenly I couldn't stand it any longer and I pushed through the tense atmosphere, closing my eyes and connecting our lips in the softest kiss. The world around me faded away as my hand travelled to rest against his slim but masculine chest, the other entangled in his hair gently and his gripped me tighter and tilted my head to deepen the kiss.

I whined against his lips, growing short of breath and he softly moaned back; we finally separated and drew apart, my head spinning like I had just been on a rollercoaster, the adrenalin rushing through my veins.

My heart fluttered crazily as he spoke, "Bedtime," his voice lower and huskier than normal.
