Talk of the Town Chapter 5(Don't read!)

It's been a few days since all the shock and mystery started to happen. I haven't been answering Kevin's calls. I know I may seem like a jerk but isn't this more important then friendship? More....exciting? I've discovered something BIG. I learned about Pods,my necklace,waterbending and The ability to wipe out memories. This morning I got up and went down stairs to the kitchen to grab a cup of water. It was 6:30 and class started at 8:50. Noone was down there but Kevin reading some fashion magazine and eating leftover pizza.

His hair was messy and got on cute pajamas. He saw me at the sink and got up quickly. "Jamie?!" He says shocked. I turned around slowly. "Hi....Dj" I said in a low voice. I started to head back to my room. He stopped me in my tracks. "Either your avoiding me because you hate me or your hiding something from me." He says. I gave him a puzzled look and shook my head no. "Then what's up?! And what's wrong with your cell cause I've been trying to reach you! No wait..that couldn't be it. There are other ways you can get to me." He waited for answer. "I've been busy" I said sounding guilty. "Busy doing what??? Homework??! We haven't even started anything yet I bet!" He says yelling at me. "Heh. That's what Diana told me" I said in a low voice giggling. I regret saying that. "Oh. Diana? You've been hanging out with those fashion freaks instead of hanging out with me? Wow Jamie and I thought you were different then the rest. I was wrong. I knew this would have happened." He says with his arms crossed. Then I saw Diana come down stairs with a nice purple silky robe and sexy lingerie on.
I blushed and tried to look away but I was too late Diana already saw me staring. "What's going on down here? I could hear you all the way from the second floor." Diana says sounding sexy.
"Scientifically that isn't possible unless these floors are very thin...which they are not." Kevin says sounding smart and bitchy. "Oh don't start with me DJ I came here for Jamie. Seems like she needs rescuing from you." She says.
Kevin faced me and shook his head. Like he knew I was gonna go with her.
"Fine then. Since you two have something so important to discuss I'll go to my dorm and go watch anime or something." He says sounding upset.
He walked up the stairs and knocked his shoulder into Diana's. Diana ignored that and looked at me with a sexy tired face. She let out a long sigh. "Come with me we have important matters to discuss." She says walking upstairs.
"Is Amber with you?" I ask. I was kinda scared of Amber now and I don't really wanna see her. "No..Amber has her own Dorm room due to her Private needs I guess. My Roommate is Mindy Lope. She's out in the town's Starbucks working on extra credit for fashion week on campus. So it's just the two of us...alone together" she says in a soft low voice. I Gulped and my throat hurt afterwords. My face was red hot for no reason. Like, what's gonna happen between us two? In that one medium sized room? Nothing right? Nothing like, I accidentally fall on top of her and she gives me a kiss-. Let me stop...maybe I'm just freaking out! Yeah! I need to relax a bit. I started to walk up with her. Her dorm room was like some rich girls bedroom. The top of her bed had her name initials on with pretty pink lights to finish it off. Diana's bedroom was pink and Mindy's side of the room was blue and a cute one person bunk.
Diana walked into the bathroom and I sat down on her bed. I bounced up and down in joy. Diana walked out with a glass of water in her hand and placed it on a drawer. "Okay Jamie time to test out your-..." she paused and looked at my necklace. "Where did you get that?" She barked. I held on to it. "I found it in your pool..on the night of the party"
I said in a low voice. "That's the powerful shell necklace that chooses a merperson that's willing to hold on to its power every moon cycle! Wow! I've never seen one up close...only in the books..you know?" She says in happiness and running out of breath. "So..you know more about it?" I asked. She clapped her hands happy to know that I was interested. "I have a moon ring it's from my pod..I was born a mermaid! I know this town's ocean better then anyone! Sadly my parents never let me go across the world or anything... like the southern Pod for example where their are merman and mermaids living together! And....of course sirens. Such horrifying creatures and they can come on land just like us!" I was so amazed about how much Diana knew. And she was an actual mermaid! LIKE BORN IN WATER! Sorry let me calm down. "Is Mindy a real mermaid too? And am I one?"(That's a dumb question good going idiot😑😐what a way to impress the chick!) Diana looked shocked that I was still listening. She clear her throat and sat down beside me. "Well..Mindy never really talked about herself much so I have no clue! And no your not-" Both our heads shot up as we heard the door knob wiggle then open. It was Amber wearing shorts and a tee with the most pissed off face. I wanted somewhere to run. The windows were shut tight and the bathroom door was open. So I ran for it. Amber slammed her hand on the wall blocking my path and I stumbled onto the soft carpet floor.
"Okay! What have I done this time?! You know!? I'm getting tired of you!" I said acting brave but on the inside I wanted to pee my pants. This experience was scary and all I wanted to do was go cry to my mom about all of this nonsense!

Amber leaned closer to me like the villains do in the movies. She looked at me straight in the eyes; still holding that pissed off face. She looked up at Diana and let her arm go off the wall.
"You really trust this fake mermaid girl? I heard your conversation from outside the door. I saw you walking with her to your room thinking you'd want to-" She paused and shook her head smirking.
She dropped that subject and took a different route. I was still on the floor afraid to get up. I felt stupid so I crawled back to Diana. She touch both my arms trying to help me up.
While still listening and having locked eye contact with Amber. Her hands felt soft and I stared at her sweetly as she touched my arms. I stood in that uncomfortable position for 3 seconds(crouched..almost standing up) when Diana shifted her eyes onto mine.
I blushed hard and sat down quickly. I cleared my throat and looked at Amber as If I was listening the whole time (I really wasn't 😂) "Does Mindy know anything about this girl?" Amber asked in all seriousness. Diana shook her head no. "She'll be back here soon though"
Amber looked at me then looked at Diana and left the room. Diana looked at me with a smile. I looked back. "WHAT?" I yelled acting as if it's a big deal. Diana giggled and grabbed the cup. And positioned it on the drawer; taking 5 steps back. She slowly put her arm out and opened right palm. She took a deep breath closing her eyes then opening them. I watched her carefully. Her beauty was wonderful just seeing her channeling all her energy in. Small sized droplet floated out of the cup and right in front of my face. "Ah! What the?!!" I screamed. "This is waterbending..
Well...half of it at least. Now say ah." Diana giggled some more. While I felt even more stupid. I opened my mouth and felt water touch my tongue. It was cold and I shivered a bit. Diana was about to do another trick with her hand then made a regretful face and put her arm down. She shook her head and was worried. My smile died down and I asked what was wrong. She laughed it off "It's nothing I'm just thinking about what Amber said..you know...at the lake..the day..you saw my tail." She says.
Then Mindy walked in with a fur coat on and a Shiney Navy blue dress. Diana looked at her and smiled. "Hey sexy I thought you were out finishing that project?" She asked with her hands on her hips. Mindy hopped onto her bed and removed her heels. "That's due next month girl and besides! The term just started! Mr.Mickov would never allow me to give it in that early! He'll think that I'm trying to be a show off and kick me out of the class! He wants us to be equal. You know what I mean Dee."
Mindy says talking fast. "So what were you doing out at town?" Diana asked.
Mindy sat up from the bed with the most bored face. "What does it look like? I was out at a party! There's a new club 7 blocks from here!" She says snorting then laughing. Diana looked at me with a confused look. At this point I saw that Mindy might have been drank too much at the party. "There's no club around here and if there wassss the University wouldn't allow it. It's inappropriate, Mindy. I was born in this town. I know things!" Diana says. After she was done talking Mindy was already asleep.
Diana shook her head in embarrassment. "I'm sorry James this could have been better. I was gonna show you how to waterbend and stuff" she whispered. Then she pushed me outside the dorm room softly.
"I really don't want to kick you out but If Mindy here she might say something...or judge you or your outfit. And I don't want that to happen." She says blocking the door. "My name is Jamie not James and it's okay...I used to have a friend like her. Well goodnight?" I said awkwardly.
I head down the stairs and Diana waved goodbye. "See you in a couple hours Jamie 😥😓😅" Diana says waving at me.

Diana closed the door behind her and turned around facing Mindy. She got up from her bed and had a huge smile on her face. Diana had a feeling something
bad was gonna happen. Diana let out a big sigh and shook her head. Diana knew that Mindy heard something about Jamie. "You know...a little birdie told me about that girl....a fairy. She wanted me to not tell you about her but I'll say it cause it's fun! 😁" Mindy clapped her hands in joy.
"Dylan is back in town Diana." Mindy says looking at Diana with that smile still on her face. "What??! What did you tell her! Why is she here!" Diana wanted an explanation badly. Mindy gave off an evil laugh and looked at Diana with a serious face. "When were you gonna tell me about that mermaid girl? That freshmen? Hm? Oh what? We're gonna start keeping secrets from me? Huh? Why is that? This moon ring keeps us together Diana! I thought we were best friends!" Mindy yelled. "Amber and I didn't want to tell you because we know how much of a big mouth you are" Diana says.
"Well I guess your right about that. Cause I just told the whole campus about your new fish freak friend! And guess who spread it? Dylan! Your ex!" Mindy says rubbing it in Diana's face.
"Your a crazy drunk Mindy! Can't believe you would do that! Your gonna get us kicked out of the pod!" Diana screamed. "Isn't that what you want?....to be free?" Mindy laughed tumbling to the floor. Diana ran to Mindy's drawers and grabbed her clothes and stuffed them into a plastic bag. "That's it! Your leaving! Don't call me! Don't talk to me or Amber!" Diana says about to cry. She grabbed Mindy by the arm and threw her outside the room with the bag and slammed the door.
Will I be able to handle this drama? I just got here!
