The Scales Chronicles (Based on the original story from 2014)

The women of secrets Chapter. 3

I was out of it the next morning but I didn't regret going to that party. I woke up and the necklace was still around my neck thinking it was all a bad dream. My phone suddenly vibrated on my bedstand and it was a text message from Kevin. How are you feeling? he asked *insert smiley face emoji here*. Then I replied back, I'm a bit woozy but I should be fine.

 You have class in a few minutes I bet. You should go get ready  He said. I jumped up and checked the time on my clock. I was gonna be late! I ran to the bathroom and turned on the faucet; I got in and laid back forgetting how late I was for my first day of class. Then the water started to bubble by itself.  My legs felt so weird like something was crawling on them little by little..Like my skin was peeling off. Then the water became still again. No bubbles and my legs didn't feel weird anymore. I sighed and put my head in my hands as if I was finally going insane, but I know what I saw. 

First day of College

I was wearing a sweater, my brother's scarf, and brand combat new boots. When I got to my first class the room was crowded with college students chatting and sharing their pictures they took on summer vacation.

The Professor walked in and the whole room went quiet and people started heading to there desks. She had a messy bun and wearing a nice classy fit and to me, she looked like she was in her mid-thirties. I pulled out my notebook and pen and prepared myself for the lesson. She had a long bottle of water on her desk and my desk was right in front of it. I had a strange feeling and I felt uncomfortable so I wanted to move to the seat next to me. Before I could get up and move Diana Jade sat in that seat before I could. I honestly felt like she knew I was going to sit there but took it anyways. I slump back down to my seat. Amber long was sitting in the 3rd seat in the front row where me and Diana were. Diana didn't notice me and had her attention on Amber once she sat down.   Diana wore the cutest outfit with the most adorable beanie. She was surprised to see me in the same class as her. Diana noticed me staring at her on the corner of her eye. She smiled at me and said "Hey! Nice outfit!" then she looked back at Amber. "Have you met Amber?" she asked.

"Uh..no I haven't actually," I said with a cracky scratchy voice and I nervously played with my pen. I coughed thinking that would help this awkward situation. Yes, I felt really nervous and awkward; I suck at being social.

I wanted to get out of the class so bad..but then it happened. The Professor accidentally pushed the bottle of water on me. Diana saw that I was soaked and rushed to take out a piece of tissue from her bag. Amber starting laughing and so did the rest of the class. I was shocked and I felt like I needed to get out of sight. I got up and ran down the hallway. I didn't know where the girl's bathroom was so I ran into the Janitors room. Then I saw sparkles all around me and I fell to the ground losing balance.  

My legs were no longer legs. THIS WAS ALL TOO WEIRD. I became a mermaid! I thought in my head..."Am I finally losing it?" I wanted to believe that so bad! Maybe this all started because of this necklace? I mean it has to be! Right? Or maybe this is a dream and I can wake up any minute now knowing that I'll be normal again!?

 I didn't want to become a mermaid or whatever I am. I never asked for this! This was weird and I needed answers. I looked at it and touched my tail. It was real! And I smelled like the ocean. The Scales were a tan color and felt a little moist but halfway dry. "How do I get my legs back?" I whispered to myself; My voice starting shaking and so was my hands. "I need a Towel! So I can dry off" I grabbed a dirty pink towel from a rack near a dirty rusty sink. I had nothing to lose I began wiping my tail and the sparkles came back and so did my legs aswell. My clothes were dry as if I was never splashed by water in the first place....weird right? I went to my 2nd-period class early since I didn't want to back to class to face Amber, Diana and a whole bunch of laughter from the class. Wow, what a strange first day. 

I was trying to find where my next class would be held but then I bumped into Diana. She was happy to see me and she was holding a towel. " Hey...Where did you run off too? And...why are you dry?" I ignored her question and brought up my own"Where did you get that towel from?" I asked. She was very sweet to come and check up on me I have to admit. " Um, girls shower room. But where are you going? First-period class is not in that direction." She said confused

"I'm going to second-period class to save myself from the embarrassment," I said nervously laughing it off. "Oh..but...are you okay? You look pale like you saw a ghost and you dried off so quickly." She says. "Oh no I'm fine, I just....Um..Blow-dried my clothes.....I always take my blow dryer with me. It's a thing I have...Its also portable" I stopped talking after that. Why did I say that? She'd never believe something so dumb. Diana didn't question the blow dryer and just told me she'd see me later and went back to class.

That was sooo weird! I swear I'd be known around campus as "Blow drier girl" in two weeks tops! How embarrassing!
