(Willow and Jamie in the media)
"Oh you scared me for a second." I chuckled, playing it off. I quickly tried to dodge him, but he gently pulled my back, keeping me in place. I sighed. He looked at me a while, and touched my shoulder. My eyes darted everywhere other than on his. I started to get nervous under his gaze, and no matter how much I tried to shake it off, the butterflies in my stomach went crazy.
"That back there....that didn't make you upset did it?" He asked, and he sounded concerned.
"What? No,of course not." I lied,making a confused expression.
"Willow,I know you." He said, raising his eyebrows. I allowed myself to study his face. That familiar smirk hid horribly behind his "concerned" face, and I rolled my eyes.
"I'm fine, Keith." I said quickly. My voice didn't sound as dismissive as I hoped. He let go of my shoulder and studied me, looking me up and down.
"Sooo... any reason we're standing in this hall looking at each other?" He looked taken aback by my words.
"So how you been?" He asked, smiling softly.
"I've been great. You?"
"Same here... that's nice to know."He looked down at his feet. I couldn't exactly read this expression, but I found it harder to take my eyes off of him by the second.
Get it together girl.
I looked away towards the dining room, hoping no one had seen us. My eyes trailed back to him, and he was already staring into mine as if he were trying to put together something to say. My nervousness grew.
Damn he is fine.
"Well,i'm going to head back to the table." I announce, desperate to escape from this predicament.
"Wait. I..... I just wanted to say its nice seeing you again.. You know, after all these years of not talking.." He reached up to fix a strand of my hair that had fallen out of place. I tried to hide my blush, faking an uninterested face.
"Uh... okay."
What else was I supposed to say? I didn't want him to think he was off the hook.
I quickly turned and walked back to the table, ignoring the hurt look in his face. The food was there, which gave me something to smile about. Rocky was talking about his plans for the summer, which was pretty close. This was our last week of college before we got a little break for summer, and he said we should all go on a trip to Atlanta. Just go stay in a hotel and do different activities.
I nodded my head. "That sounds like a good idea.." I said, taking a bite of my shrimp Alfredo.
Keith came back to the table and sat down, and I avoided eye contact.
"Yea. We can head out Saturday." Jamie said.
"Head out where?" Keith asked.
"A summer trip to ATL. Everyone thinks it'll be fun." Dion answered.
"Oh okay."
"So..how are we working out the rooms?" Chres asked.
"Couples. Duh." Dion laughed, and Chres flipped him off.
"This is going to be so much fun!" Jamie said, laying her head on Chres's shoulder. He bit his lip as he gazed down at her.
We all finished eating, and the boys paid the tickets. We walked outside, hugging each other, and saying bye.
Rocky hugged me. "I don't see you until Saturday." I said.
"I know, I know. Text me when y'all make it home." He smiled, and I smiled back.
