Bryce's POV
The next day, I am sitting with Allison talking about the next dance wondering who the trio partner will be. I hear a knock and someone say, "Where's my Bry Bry at?" My eyes go wide. It can't be! It is! It's Riker!
I run to him and nearly tackle him. "Oh my god! What are you doing here? I am waiting for my partner. Wait! Are you my partner?" He laughs and says, "Of course I am! Who else would be your partner in this? Plus, I had to see my favorite girl Ali."
Ali tells us we are dancing a Jazz routine to All That Jazz and there is going to be a surprise. I ask her and she says, "Synemma will be making an appearance and I hope you can sing live and dance at the same time because you're singing the song." I am so excited. I cannot wait until Monday now.
Monday is here and I am pumped. In addition to the trio dance, I will be dancing a Quickstep to You Have More Friends Than You Know by the Glee Cast. We get through the dance and get a 29, with Len giving us a 9. I understand why and am so excited for the trio dance. Jordan dances and gets a perfect score. I congratulate him and get ready for my dance. Jordan comes over and hugs me.
"Are you ready for the trio dance?" I respond to him, "Yes. I am excited to dance in drag again but even more excited for the surprise. You are going to love it!" I get called to stage and the song starts. I start singing as I dance and I see everyone just in awe and Jordan's eyes are filled with love and admiration. The number ends and I am so excited. I did it! I cannot believe I just did that! I get a perfect score and Jordan and I end the night tied along with Lindsey and Mark.
Flash forward to the next week
This week is Iconic Dances week and we were given James and Sharna's Viennese Waltz routine to You Don't Own Me by Grace ft. G-Eazy as well as dancing a Rumba to Wanted by Hunter Hayes. I am excited to do the rumba but terrified to do the Viennese Waltz routine. I hear my phone ringing so I run to see who is calling me. Ali tells me to answer it so I do, but curious as to why she wants me to answer the FaceTime call so bad. The screen shows a shirtless James saying hi to me. I know I have a boyfriend but this is one fine man.
James coaches me on my routine and I feel confident about it. The Rumba routine hits a dead stop because during the pros' group rehearsal, Ali trips on her costume and rolls her ankle. Luckily, until showtime, Jenna, who danced James' routine the first time, is going to be my partner for the dance.
It's showtime and I tune out everyone to get into character. Being the unconventional couple, we decided that Ali would be Joker and I would be Harley Quinn. I see Jordan and go, "Oh Mr. J! Come over here babe!" Jordan turns around and his jaw drops. I seem to be doing that a lot to him. I ask him, "So what do you think puddin'?"
Jordan goes, "I don't know whether to kiss you now or later." I go, "Why not do both?" Jordan chuckles and kisses me. I hear my name being called and say, "It's my time Mr. J. I'll see you after I kicked your butt puddin!"
We end the night tied again with Jordan with a 60/60 and both are in the finals with Lindsey and Frankie. I made it to the end and cannot wait for next week.
Fast forward to Finale Night
3rd Person POV
It's Finale Night and we have four of the fiercest competitors we have ever had! We have the Broadway Dynamite Jordan Fisher, the Creative Genius Lindsey Sterling, the Underdog Frankie Muniz, and the Game Changer Bryce Stryker. Each person has worked incredibly hard to get here and after tonight, we will crown a winner. Or will we? Tune in to see what happens live. It will be a show you will never forget.
Bryce's POV
For once, I am not nervous. I am pumped but sad. I have loved every moment of this journey and feel like I have grown so much as a person. I have made some incredible friends in Lindsey, Frankie, Nikki, Vanessa, and Victoria. I have rediscovered what it means to be in love with Jordan. I learned how to fully accept who I am and embrace my creative and dramatic personality thanks to Ali. I do not want it to end, but everything comes to an end eventually so something else can start.
We have been tasked with two dances: Freestyle and Contemporary. Contemporary was going to be a tough one for me because I changed the song to Not My Father's Son by the Kinky Boots in honor of my dad. My dad might have been a jerk to me and treated me terribly, but he is my dad and I love and miss him everyday. His actions towards me gave me the push to be myself and take a chance on my dreams. Without him, I would not be here. It is also for my mom. I flew her out to see this performance because I decided to forgive her because in the end, she was supporting her love, which I can understand.
For the freestyle, I am dancing to Land of Lola from the same musical. What can you say? I am a sucker for musicals. And to be able to do drag? The cherry on top! I recruited Todrick Hall since he played Lola and other drag queens like Tatianna, Alyssa Edwards, and Katya. I love those three so much and hope to judge an episode one day.
I look to Ali and tell her, "No matter what happens, I am so thankful for you sharing this experience with me and not only being the best partner, but the best older sister that I ever have!" She doesn't say anything but just hugs me. I don't know where I would be today without her support.
I am waiting to dance and my video package comes on. It starts with some celebrities and fellow competitors saying why I deserve to win. Zendaya says that I am the best dancer this show has ever seen because I am the complete package: talented, charismatic, dedicated, humble, and innovative. It meant a lot to me. Next up was Jax and I started tearing up before he even said a word. He talked about how if it wasn't for him, he would not be doing what he loves and able to be himself. After him, Jordan pops up on the screen. He talks about how my tenacity and ability to just be myself without judgement are why I deserve to win. He talks about how we first met and that no matter what happens, he is happy to have met such an amazing guy like me.
After Jordan's speech, which made me almost lose it completely, Nikki, John (her fiance), Vanessa, and Nick all join in to tell me how proud they are of me and are hoping for me to win. Finally, the package ends and it's my time to shine. We get a 30/30 for the Contemporary dance and I just fall to my knees and breakdown. Erin asks me why I reacted that way. Instead of just saying I am sad this journey is over, I tell her the honest truth: My dad never got to love the real me because of his homophobia and I just wished my dad could see me now and be proud of me.
I run to my dressing room to compose myself and get a text on my phone. It's from Tatianna. She says, "The girls and I are here and ready to slay! Let's shake up this ballroom one more time!" I start laughing. It got me back into the competition. I go to hair and make-up and see Katya and Alyssa.
They both ask, "Want to really shock the world?" I answer, "Um of course I do! What do you have in mind?" They whisper the idea to me and it's perfect! Synemma is in the building and the world better be ready.
