Cherry's POV

I woke up in a hospital bed. The harsh LED lights blinding. You see I always hated hospitals because it always smelled like sanitizer and death. Like they're trying to erase the smell of people dying but failing horribly.
I look over and see a guy sitting beside my bed with a brown haired and blue eyed girl.
"Vicky, have you ever felt..like..so terrified for someone else's life being in danger?" The guy asked her.
"No. Not really. Why?" She looked at him with a crinkle on the bridge of her nose.
"Because when I found Cherry, with all the gashes and bruises she had laying there. I was afraid she wouldn't have made it." His voice wavered a little.
"Do you know how much blood she lost?" Vicky asked.
"Well, she lost quite a bit." He took a heavy breath and glided his hand through his long black hair. His hair shined in the light, and I couldn't help but stare. I grunted as I tried to adjust myself. They both turned and smiled. The boy leaned over and brushed my hair out of my face.
"How are you feeling Cherry?" He asked in a soft voice.
"O-okay I g-guess." I croak out. I glance over at Vicky and her face shows a hint of something like jealousy.
"Are you hungry or..?"
"W-water. Need w-water." I say, placing my hand on my throat.
"Oh okay." He said quickly as he got up and rushed out. Vicky sat there and stared down at her hands.
"He's always so..caring about those who are in need." She said after awhile. I smiled at her words .
"One of the main reasons I fell in love with him." Her voice started breaking. Like she was choking on a sob.
"H-how long have you two been together?" I ask.
"Almost 2 years." She answered simply. "We broke up twice. He said that this is the last time he'll be with me." She shakes her head. "I can't imagine my life without him." She looked up with a gleam of a strange dark nature.
"I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told the other girls when they tried taking him away from me. Don't or you'll wish you hadn't." Her finger was pointed at me. I nodded, scared.
"Okay. Thank you." Then she replaces her sad frown with a beaming smile.
"I'm sorry. I know. I'm over protective over my whole world. I'm scared of losing him again."
"It's okay. I understand completely." I returned her smile. And right then the boy steps in with my cup of water.
"Sorry. A big line." He says, breathing heavy.
"Baby. You okay?" Vicky asked him.
"Yes. Stairs." He pointed out the door with a quick smile. We both nod. Once the boy gives me my water he sits beside his girlfriend. Making Vicky immediately intertwine her fingers with his. I take a sip and set it on the little table in front of me.
"So um, whats your name?" I ask him. "I want to know my savior's name." I jokingly say.
"Oh, sorry. I'm Ashton but you can call me Ash."
"Well, thank you for saving my life Ash." I tell him.
"Nah, I was just being a simple human being concerned on the well being of another." I look at Vicky and she gestures to him saying I told you so.
I giggle. It feels strange to giggle. It's like that was the first time I giggled or something. After awhile we just start a long and deep conversation. It's nice to have someone to talk to.
