What you see on the outside may not reflect what's on the inside
You may see a smile on her face, but under that mask is a face of tears
All you see is her mask painted on the outside
You'll never truly see any of her fears

The world can't see what goes on in his mind
All they see is a boy with scars on his wrists
You think you understand and can see but you are truly blind
Can't you see he struggles to resist?

No one will understand why she does these things
She's as skinny as a skeleton but still refuses to eat
She's beautiful enough for Kings
But in her mirror she sees nothing but meat

No, you'll never really see how he feels
Because he cries in a corner as they laugh at him
Maybe they'll understand when his death is very real
But for now their understanding is slim

What you see on the outside may not reflect what's on the inside
They're hurting but no one will give them a helping hand
Will anytime be the one to put aside their pride
And be what they need... Be their superman
