I brought my free hand up and knocked on the door as we both waited. Louis was practically shaking from anxiety so I squeezed his hand and he just looked up at me and sent me a small smile. The door finally opened and Richard stood there.
"Finally you're here. Kelsey has been driving me crazy!" He mused as he hugged me and then Louis.
"You know how she gets." I smiled and he nodded with wide eyes.
"She's never been this bad though. Kelsey! Our guests are here." He called out and we heard some crashing coming from the kitchen before she appeared.
"Aw Marcy!" She cooed as she walked up to me giving me a huge hug. "Oh and this must be the famous Louis. Richard has told me a lot about you." She smiled hugging Louis too.
"Oh I didn't know I was dating Richard." Louis grinned and Kelsey giggled.
"He has a sense of humour too. You got yourself a good one Marcy." She winked as she nudged my side.
We all laughed and then we followed Kelsey into the kitchen.
"Hawwy!" Holly squealed from her high chair once she saw me.
"Hey there baby!" I mused as I walked up to her and poked her nose.
"Look hunny she remembered his name." Richard said and Kelsey aw'd.
Louis looked at Holly and walked up to her stroking the top of her hand with a content smile.
"Hi there little one." He said and she waved at him. "My name is Louis."
"Lewis?" She said and he just chuckled.
"Lou-eh!" He emphasized and the blonde looked up at him with big eyes.
"Loueh." She said and he clapped his hands.
"Such a smart girl." He praised and she giggled.
"Tell Louis what your name is. What's your name?" Richard said as he stroked the fringe out of Holly's eyes.
"Holly." She smiled, showing off her one tooth.
"Good girl." Richard said kissing the top of her head. They were both great parents.
"Ok everyone take a seat! Dinner is served." Kelsey said as she placed the last plate filled with food on the table.
We all sat down and piled our plates with food and after a quick toast to family and love we began to eat.
"So Louis you go to University right?" Kelsey asked and Louis nodded.
"Yeah I'm studying drama and music."
"He's really good at it too. We practice his lines all the time together. And spend a lot of time singing." I smiled and Louis grinned back.
"So what do you want to do after you graduate University?" Kelsey wondered, a polite smile playing at her lips but her eyes were sparkling with curiosity.
"Well I would quite like to be part of a pantomime." He said and Kelseys smile grew.
"That's wonderful." Kelsey exclaimed. "I love the pantomime! They have such great shows!" She continued to say.
After that we just talked and talked and it seemed never ending. Kelsey and Louis really hit it off. They were laughing with one another and sharing stories like best friends. It was beautiful to watch the scene honestly. Knowing that my boyfriend is getting along so well with Kelsey who is a mother figure to me makes me one of the happiest people on earth.
"Right then! Who wants dessert?" She mused.
After eating dessert we all made our way to the living room where the conversation continued. We watched as Holly played with her toys. She seemed to take a liking to Louis as she kept taking him her toys. She held them up in the air and he got them, thanking her and placing it on the arm of the sofa.
