Okay, 3K reads???? Thank you! I'm honestly surprised how popular this book is considering how rarely I update, but thank you so much! Anyway, you can get back to reading.

Me and Philip have been meeting regularly ever since he got back three weeks ago. Sometimes we'll meet at my favorite cafe, sometimes at his house, at mine, or at a park nearby that we played at when we were kids.

When we weren't able to meet in person, we sent letters to each other. He would send some poems he wrote while I sent my attempted poems. I wasn't nearly as good as Philip was with words, but he enjoyed them anyway.

Philip's Birthday was approaching rather quickly, and I was currently wondering what the Hamiltons would do to celebrate.

A small family gathering? No, that's not Alexander's style. But I doubt Philip would want a huge party either.

My thoughts were interrupted by my mother calling me from downstairs.

"(Y/N)! There's mail for you!" She called. I thought it was strange that there was a letter in the middle of the day, especially while most people are at work like my father is currently; doing presidential stuff.

I left my room and walked down the stairs, meeting my mom at the door. She was ruffling through the rest of the mail while an individual letter sat in between her pinky and ring finger.

Once I reached her, she looked up, gave me a look and a smirk and handed me the letter. I raised an eyebrow and took the envelope from her hand.

It was decorated nicely, with some gold lace designs on each corner. Our address was written in a nice cursive on the front with the return address reading the Hamiltons' home.

I gently opened the envelope and took out the just as nicely detailed letter.

I read it aloud to me and my mother.

"Dear Washington Family,
As you must know, my eldest son Philip Hamilton is turning 16 years old next weekend. It would be an honor if you could join us for a celebration at the Town Plaza.
Sincerely,
Secretary of Treasury
Alexander Hamilton"

Looks like he went with the big party after all.

With some conversations with my father and an acceptance letter in the mail, the Washingtons were ready to go to Philip's party.

The Plaza was a huge building with marble white columns and voluminous hedges everywhere outside, as well as a peaceful fountain that gave a little watery background noise. The tall iron lamp stands were lit which gave the whole scene a warm and enticing glow. I could barely contain my excitement.

Once the carriage dropped us off, we were escorted to the main building. A man dressed up in a fancy suit and greased back hair walked with us and gave a very brief history on the building. I didn't really listen.

I shifted the gift for Philip in my arms as I walked inside. We stood on a balcony with stone railings that overviewed the main ballroom.

A smallish band with woodwind, string, and brass instruments was playing on the right while a decorated stage and a wooden pedestal was in the front. Tables with white and red tablecloth for food and sitting lined the walls and a beautiful glass chandelier lit the room.

Jeez, Hamiltons can really throw parties.

The same man that escorted us gave us an introduction that echoed through the room, and a few claps followed, welcoming our family (although it was just the three of us).
