Chapter 1: A Second Chance

It was close. Fiore was at the finish line but fell short of victory. They had bested most of the Spriggian but Natsu was the last one remaining. He sat up against the wall of a destroyed building silently crying at his failure to protect thoses around him. He constantly relived the memories of those who had died because he was weak. Master died using Fairy Law even though it was in vain. Erza died shielding him from a attack from her own mother. Mostly everyone else was killed in August's suicide spell. Lucy and Gray's death were the most painful. It was because he was the cause of them. When his E.N.D instincts kicked in he went on a rampage to find Zeref. Gray found out who he was after Juvia killed herself saving him. The two than engaged in a heated battle. Lucy tried to step in and stopped them but Natsu accidentally hit her with an attack which killed her. In his rage he also killed Gray. He now was alone as 5 yards away from him was his own brother. Zeref had a sad smile on his face knowing this was the end. With Ancologia still around they were doomed as no one had the power to defeat him. He spoke to his brother.
"I'm sorry it had to come to this Natsu. I only wanted to save this world from chaos."
"To do so you decided the best course would be to erase this timeline."
"I know it seems harsh but it is the only way. Soon Ancologia will be here and it will be the end of the world. I shall grant you a quick death to save you from his torture."
Zeref raised his hand which began to gather a black energy. The last thing Natsu saw was a tear shed from Zeref's face before his world went dark.

Natsu felt nothing for a brief second. It was a weird feeling but it had a pleasant sensation. Then he felt himself lying down on the ground. He opened his eyes and saw a clear blue sky above. He quickly sat up wondering if he was dreaming or in the afterlife. He tested this theory by punching himself in the face and the pain proved he wasn't dreaming. He looked around and saw an endless meadow full of flowers of all types. He felt a presence behind him and stood up to face the person. Behind him was a old man that wore a all white toga and had white hair and a long white beard. Natsu looked into the old mans soft blue eyes and felt no malice so he lowered his guard.
"Who are you. Where am I." Said Natsu
"You my friend are in the land between the living and the dead. A place of endlessness that holds those who have yet to pass to into the after life." Said the man.
"Wait. If this is the place that holds those who are dead before they pass into the after life. Where are all my friends. Plus, who are you."
"I am the god of time Chronos. I'm sorry but your friends have passed on already. I alone have withheld your departure as I need to talk to you."
"Wait a minute. Your that thing that Wendy and Sherria fought. I saw her die from her injuries after defeating you. Why would I ever talk to some one who killed my friend.
"Hold on a minute. I did not kill her myself. I was taken over by Dimaria Yestsa and had no control over my powers. I could only watch as she did terrible things with my powers. Your friend released me from my prison and I am eternally grateful. Which I why I'm about to break several rules to help you save the planet."
Natsu looked up the man with eyes of hope. Could he really help him save the world. Was there a chance he could see his friends again.
"I am going to send you back to the day you joined Fairy Tail. A second chance if you will, to save your friends."
"Really. Then what are you waiting for. I'm ready to go now."
"Wait a second. First let me explain a few things. The first is that you will keep your current level of power. The second being that there my be slight changes in the timeline. The last is that you must remember that if you make any major changes in the timeline it could completely change the future that you've came from."
Natsu remembered the rules well before nodding his head. That's when Chronos snapped his fingers and Natsu saw a bright white light before waking in a cave. He remembered this cave from when Igneel first left. He tried to stand up but fell on his face. Looking at his legs he noticed that he was in his kid body. He used the wall of the cave to get comfortable in this body before walking to the exit of the cave. He smiled as he realized he really did get sent back in time. He smiled as he remembered that Igneel was inside him this whole time. Taking in a deep breath he took off towards Fairy Tail. Eager to re meet his friends all over again.
'Don't worry guys. This time I will protect you."
