A Second Chance to Save Fairy Tail

Chapter 5: Missing Quest

Okay Guys. This is the start of the Galuna arc. I really don't like this arc so I'm going to skip as much as possible.

Seeing as they were close to Clover, Team Natsu decided to go inform their master of recent events. Arriving at he meeting place they spotted Master reading a dirty magazine so he was quickly scolded by Erza before being told what had happened.
"I see. I never thought a dark guild such as Eisenwald would get there hands on such powerful magic." He said.
"So what should we do with flute?" Asked Gray.
"I'll ask the magic council to send someone to retrieve it. Let me see the flute."
Erza handed Master flute and he began to inspect it. As he was it started to glow purple before a voice came from it.
"I'm tired of waiting. I'll devour your souls myself."
Lullaby began to grow to an enormous size causing all the guild masters from inside to come out. When it finished it was as tall as a small mountain. Lullaby sent out a roar which was so loud everyone had to cover there ears. It attracted the attention of a squad of Rune Knights who swallowed their fear and began to charge at the monster. It was in vain as Lullaby simply sent out a blast from its mouth destroying a mountain top. This scared the Knights away faster then they came. Seeing no other option Erza and Gray charged the demon while Natsu and Lucy ushered the guild masters back to a safe distance. Natsu eyed the two of them and saw that they were doing just as good as before. However Lullaby roared again and fired a blast towards the masters. Lucy froze in fear of the incoming attack. Fire Dome. A red dome appeared around everyone and the blast simply hit it but didn't do anything else. Lucy and the masters looked at Natsu in awe as he shielded them from that blast with no effort.
Seeing as Lullaby had a lot of holes in him. Natsu figured his was over as he couldn't play his song. He knocked Gray and Erza away from him before growing tired of being attacked.
"Foolish humans. You have already lost as I will play my song of death."
Lullaby attempted to play his song but the holes in him caused nothing to play but air. Natsu was surprised when Lullaby's holes began to heal at an alarming rate which did happen the first time. Realizing that Erza and Gray couldn't get to him before he played he song he raised his hand and fired a barrage of fire balls into the demon. Once again making him unable to play his song. Lucy looked at Lullaby and saw that inside his shell was a glowing purple heart.
"Natsu look inside his chest. Destroy his heart and he should go down."
Natsu grinned as he used his magic to propel himself into Lullabys chest. Requipping a gauntlet out he smashed through his chest than heart. Lullaby let out a weak roar before the demon crumbled into its flute form. Everyone cheered in victory at the defeat of the demon. While Makarov began to wrap things up with the other masters the team began to talk.
"Hey Natsu. I thought you used dragon slaying magic. That looked like standard fire magic there." Asked Lucy
"Well. I'm kinda banned from using that magic by gramps. He says it's too dangerous and that I should only use it for emergencies. So I learned a lot of other magics. Primarily fire magic."
Lucy took in this new info as master came hurrying towards them.
"Let's scram brats. I think we pinched a nerve seeing as how the meeting place was destroyed."
Everyone sweat dropped seeing that Lullaby did cause a lot of damage along with Gray and Erza. Everyone turned and ran as they were chased by the angry masters.

It had been two weeks since the Lullaby incident. Lucy had gone on enough jobs to finally move out of Natsu's and get her own apartment. It was 70,000 jewels a month but worth it. Currently everyone was at the guild hanging out. Natsu was currently arguing with Gray while Lucy was talking to Mira. Mira had noticed the master looked a little drowsy and decided to ask why.
"What's wrong Master. Are you alright." She asked.
"I'm fine. Just a little sleepy."
One by one all of the Fairy Tail mages excluding Natsu and Makarov began to grow tired till the people point of falling asleep. Then in came Mystogan through the front doors. He walked to the board and went to the master to tell him he was taking this job.
"Yo Misty. You should really stop putting this spell on. Get to know your guild mates a bit." Said Natsu.
Mystogan looked at him before turning and walking out. He began to count down from five and finished just as he walked out ending his spell. Everyone then began to wake up groaning about how Mystogan always put them to sleep. Lucy felt a little weird as it had been her first time under the effects of the spell.
"What was that?" She asked.
That was Mystogan. He's a contender for Fairy Tails strongest mage." Said Mira.
"Every time he comes to get a job he puts everyone to sleep. No one has ever seen his face except Master and Natsu." Said Gray.
"That's where your wrong." Spoke a voice. Everyone looked up to see Laxus grinning from the second floor leaning on the railing.
"I've also seen his face. I like the whole idea of keeping your identity a secret. You guys should really respect his privacy."
"Oh shut it Laxus. Why don't you come down her and fight me." Yelled Gray.
"You come up to you pipsqueak."
Gray ran to the stairs of the second floor but was stopped by Makarov's fist.
"Knock it off Laxus and you can't go up to the second floor Gray. At least not yet."
Laxus laughed from above at the crushed Gray.
"That's right. When I'm master of the guild things will be better. We won't have weaklings like you Gray. This guild is full of pathetic people who aren't worthy to be called mages."
"Laxus, how could you say something like that about your guild mates." Said Lisanna.
"I don't want to hear anything from you. You would be dead by your own weak brother if you weren't saved by the fire breathing chump." Laxus shot back.
"Is there a problem sparky." Said someone behind Laxus who quickly turned around and saw a pissed Natsu.
"Yeah there is, fakes like you should just crawl in a hole and rot. Only people with real power should thrive." Laxus said with a smirk.
"Well why don't you put your money where your mouth is sparky." Natsu said with a smirk also. Laxus grinned before throwing a punch at Natsu who easily dodged it and used one hand to pushed Laxus off of the second floor and down to the ground. Laxus landed on his feet and looked back at the second floor only to see Natsu gone. He then felt a hit from his back launch him forward. Everyone began to back up on fear that the two juggernauts were about to go at it. However Makarov's voice boomed through the guild.
"THATS ENOUGH YOU BRATS. ANY MORE AND YOU WILL DESTROY THE GUILD HALL."
Laxus scoffed before disappearing in bolt of lightning. Natsu still looked angry and also vanished in a torrent of flames. After everything had calmed down Lucy went to Mira and began to talk to her.
"Mira who was that person."
"That was Laxus. Another contender for the strongest wizard of Fairy Tail. Everytime he comes here he and Natsu butt heads."
"What was all that stuff about becoming master of Fairy Tail. Please tell me it's a load of crap."
"Actually it's not. You see, Master is quite old so he's looking for someone to take the title of master. Laxus chances are pretty high considering that he is the masters grandson."
"Wow. I never knew the master had a child. Let alone a grandson. How come Gray couldn't go on the second floor?"
"The second floor is for S-class wizards only as up there is the S-class quest. They are very difficult but give out a higher payout then normal quest. There are different levels of quest which each higher level more dangerous. There is S-class, then SS-class, followed by the 10 year quest which are quest that haven't been completed in 10 years, and finally the 100 quests which are quest that haven't been completed in 100 years."
"This is making my head spin. It's getting late so I think I'll go home.
Lucy and Mira said goodbye to each other before Lucy made her way home. She was thinking about all the power levels and was trying to scale herself in with everyone else. As she opened her apartment door she was shocked to see Gray and Elfman in her room lifting weights. Slightly appalled at how they quickly settled in to her new home considering how they left right before she did.
"What are you guys doing in my apartment?" She asked
"We're going to show Laxus that we are not weak. So I decided that we go on a S-class mission." Gray replied.
"I thought that only S-class mages could go on those quest. I also heard that there really dangerous."
"Well technically I stole it but if we complete then master will see we can handle it. Maybe even get promoted."
"If that's not enough convincing the reward is 7 million jewels." Elfman said.
Lucy was sold the second he said 7 million. Getting there stuff ready they began their journey to Galuna Island.

The next day at the guild Lisanna came rushing from the second floor with a worried look on her face. Givin that she was a barmaid she was given special access to the second floor to clean and check the request board. She found her target and quickly rushed over to Makarov who was having a drink.
"Master. One of the S-class quest are gone." She said in a worried tone.
The master nearly spit his drink out but quickly regained him self.
"Which one was it."
"It was the Galuna Island quest."
"The demon isle, who would dare take such a quest. Maybe it was one of our S- class but they just didn't record it."
"I don't think so. Natsu never came back while Erza, Mira-nee, and Mystogan are already on a mission. It's not Laxus either bacause he's currently over there."
Makarov looked to where she was pointing seeing Laxus grinning at them. He must have been listening to there conversation.
"Laxus. Do you know who took that quest?" Asked Makarov.
"Well. Last night I saw some naked weirdo creep in here and take it."
"Gray? Why didn't you stop him. He could get seriously hurt if he goes there."
"It wasn't any of my business. If they can't even manage a simple quest then they shouldn't even be here." Laxus finished as he disappeared from the area.
Makarov and Lisanna had already deduced that it was Gray who took the quest. Makarov pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. He was willing to bet money that Elfman and Lucy went with him as they hadn't shown up today. He was truly at a dilemma because there was no one here who could possibly bring Gray and the rest back by force. He needed to get ahold of his S-class mages.
"Lisanna. Send out a message to Erza and Mira. Also see if you can find Natsu."
With a nod Lisanna went to fulfill her mission as Makarov sat thinking of a punishment for them.

We all knows what happens in this arc so everthing is the same just replace Natsu with Elfman. At this time Erza just arrived at the island.
Makarov was feeling better about this whole situation. Mira may have been too busy but Erza was already filled in and should be retrieving them from the island. The doors to the guild burst opened and in came Natsu and Happy. Makarov grabbed Natsu with his Titan arm and brought his over by him surprising the fire mage.
"Natsu where have you been. I needed your help."
"Sorry Gramps. I needed to blow off some steam so I went. and destroyed a dark guild. What did you need me for."
"I needed you because Gray, Lucy, and Elfman went on a S-class quest. I've already sent Erza to bring them back so don't worry."
Natsu mentally face palmed at this. He completely forgot about this. He had always wondered if this would still happen seeing as he originally had Happy take the quest. Even if it was unavoidable there was something he needed to do on that island so he had to be fast.
"Gramps. I will go just in case so don't wait up."
Before the master could ask why he and Happy rushed out the door.
