Chapter 4
Detention
"You like me?!"
I was speechless. Why me? Out of all the cheerleaders he could be with. I'm so confused.
"Yes you. Valerie you were always something else. You aren't like all the other girls."
"Well obviously. I destroyed the principal's car! I beat the living crap out of a few stuck up plastics. And let's not forget the few jocks too." I laughed.
"You're like me but you're worse!"
"Hey! I just don't stand for stupidity and I won't let anyone belittle me. I will stand up for myself."
"Well so what do you say?"
*RING*
'Thank god! Perfect timing!'
"Well come sit with me at lunch. I'm pretty sure Dani will be there. See you later" he winked then walked away.
'Wait what happened? Am I dreaming?'
I pinched my arm.
'Nope. It's real. Wait! Crap! I'm late for class!'
I ran to class. I'm surprised that wicked old crone didn't notice me sneak through the door. I take my seat next to Dani.
"Dani! You will never believe what-"
"Valerie if you say another word you will get out of my class! Now class get out your math journal and turn to page 46" The old crone yelled
"What happened?" Dani whispered
"Danicielle and Valerie get out of my class right now! This is not social hour!" scolded the wicked crone
"Know what you wrinkly, wicked, old, bat?! I'm tried of you always calling me out. You think just because I have a reputation-"
"Valerie shut up!" Dani said as she grabbed my hand and pulled me out of class.
Dani's P.O.V.
'Valerie is always doing this crap. Ugh! I have absolutely no idea how I put up with her. She is a ticking time bomb'
I grabbed her hand and dragged out of class before she started cussing the teacher out in Spanish. Once she speaks Spanish it's like she's a completely different person. She's El Diablo (the devil) at it's best. I pulled her to the side of the hallway.
"What was that Valerie?"
"I'm tired of the old crone always calling me out on the smallest things!" she yelled
"Hey, stop yelling." I whispered loudly. "So what happened?"
"Oh yeah...Grayson he uh...he asked me to prom..."
"Grayson?! Ahhhhh! Really?!" I couldn't help but scream.
"Keep it down! I haven't told him anything yet." She shushed me and walked towards the principal's office.
"You have to say yes. No questions asked."
"I don't know if I even want to go to prom."
"Why not?"
Valerie opened the door to the office. I started sweating. I've been here many times but, it's still intimidating. Everytime I get in trouble it's because of Valerie. She's a bad influence but she's my only friend. She doesn't judge me, she accepts me for who I am.
Valerie's P.O.V.
I hate Principal Buck. I'm a regular, so he always trying to scare me so I would 'act right'. Like that will ever happen. I opened the door to his ugly face. I roll my eyes as he greets me.
"Valerie I wonder why I'm not surprised to see you again?"
"Can you make this quick?" I groan.
Dani walks in finally. Her face is red as a beet.
"Oh you brought Dani with you this time." He chuckled. "Well you wanted to make this quick. Detention after school till Friday next week. Now get out. Oh and Valerie have fun"
"oh hombre realmente blanco? ¡cómo te atreves! ¿Quieres que tus llantas sean cortadas de nuevo? ¿No sabes que estoy loco?"
("oh really white man? how dare you! Do you want your tires slashed again? don't you know I'm crazy?")
At this point I'm yelling at the top of my lungs. Dani grabbed my hand and pushed me out the door.
"Sorry Mr. Buck. See you after school." She hurried
*Lunch*
I couldn't wait for lunch. I wanted to tell Dani about Grayson. I waited in the lunch line for Dani. I grabbed my food she still hasn't showed up. Where did she go? I looked where we normally sat and she wasn't there. I turn around then I see her sitting with Aaron. I'm so stupid. I forgot already. Then I see Grayson sitting with them. He glances up and we make eye contact, he smiles and waves for me to come over. I walk over.
"Valerie!" Dani says excited
"Dani!" I say mockingly
"Sit!"
I see an empty seat next to Ethan and I sit down.
"Ethan switch spots with Valerie" Grayson's raspy voice says
"Oh yeah! Here you go Valerie" Ethan smirked
I sit next to Grayson and I fell his hand on my thigh.
