August POV Today's my lil baby's first birthday me and Ava decided that we wake her up with a cupcake with a number one on it Ava emotional ass already crying and we didn't even get ta ha room yet "Baby what ya crying fa" "My baby turning one and these hormones are making me like this" She sniffed "Let these months go by fast" "What you trying to say August am I getting on your nerves?" She started sniffing "Nah baby I mean let these months go by fast because I'm ready to see my other baby girl" She smiled and kissed my cheek "I can't wait either little mi- The doorbell rung, I went to answer it because we didn't want Ashleigh to wake up yet I opened the door to see Ava's brother and sister and I'm guessing their parents "Babe who's at the door" She came around the corner with a donut in her hand "What are you guys doing here the party isn't set up yet" Her dad looked at me and looked at Ava and down at her stomach "We actually came to help set up" "How did you know where I live" "Your aunt told us but you must be August I'm Ava's mom Ayanna and this is Ava's father Derrick" "Look we don't have a lot of time because Ashleigh could be up an- "Mama dada" Ava sighed and went upstairs to tend to Ashleigh leaving me with her dad ,mom, brother, and sister "I'm coming baby" "Well you can sit down we really wasn't expecting guest until the party so there's a slight change we're going to bring Ashleigh down so we can sing happy birthday to her" "Can I help Ashleigh blow out her candle" I chuckled "Yeah you can Aubree we'll be right back" I went upstairs to get dressed in something simple because I'm the one barbecuing and it's hot as hell today, I went in Ashleigh's room to see her crying and Ava struggling to do her hair "Ashleigh be still so ya mama can do ya hair and quit allat" cryin' you a big girl now" "Ashleigh be still or imma pop you again and babe can you get her birthday outfit out her closet" Ava was finally done with Ashleigh's hair and was now getting her dressed in her outfit

Ava's POV After getting the hard part over with I changed in something simple because the party is outside but also inside the house because August is on the grill the whole time and I'm pretty sure he's gonna have me in the house so I can be off my feet "Is the cupcake downstairs" "Yeah and I called Malcolm and Chris to help set up the party" "Okay" August had Ashleigh in his arms and we all walked downstairs when Aubree and Anthony seen us "Ashleigh!" "Aubee!" My baby learning how to say some names "Antony!" Ashleigh reached for my brother and of course he took her out August hands "Everyone let's go to the kitchen so we can sing happy birthday" We all went to the kitchen and sat Ashleigh in her high chair and put the cupcake in front of her she started to dig her hands in it but I stopped her "Ashleigh wait baby we have to sing first" August laughed at the face she made and kissed her cheek After we were done singing happy birthday and she ate her cupcake I took her upstairs to change her in her outfit and clean her up, my mom came up to us "Happy birthday Ashleigh" "Thank ya" She smiled and looked at me "She have August accent" I really want to forgive them but it's hard because I can't forget the hurt they caused me "Yeah she does" "Ava I know we hurt you and I understand that but you hurt us too but now that we're back together as a family- "No thanks I'm good you can keep all of that family shit to yourself like I said before my aunt is my mom now will you excuse me my mom is coming to pick Ashleigh up to take her out" I walked away from her only to be pulled into a guest room by August "Anthony come get Ashleigh fa' me real quick" Anthony came and got Ashleigh and walked out the room, while August was death glaring me if looks can kill I'll be six feet under right now "What tha' fuck was that Ava you need ta get yo shit together fast not only you disrespected your mom but you did allat' shit in front of Ashleigh" "Look I'm not trying to hear another speech about giving them a chance so you can keep that shit yo yourself too" He shook his head at me and walked out the room, right now I'm at the point to where I don't care about their feelings and keep doing my own thing like I have been doing
