Tony woke up the next morning with a clear mind, and one thing was on it.
What exactly had happened between Blake and Adrianna? He was going to find out as his first job for the day.
He got up, and noticed the bed was soaked. He remembered Adrianna collapsing onto him, sobbing through the pillow, drenched from the rain. He remembered falling asleep shortly after that and her warmth more than made up for nearly flooding his mattress. He heard a click, and Adrianna emerged from the bathroom, wrapped in a towel.
"Hey." she said quietly, walking past him to where she had her clothes. She began picking up what she was going to wear, tossing a paper aside.
"Hey? How is your stuff here? Why are you in a towel? I mean I'm not bothered by it, I'm just curious." he said.
"Well, to start, I'm single now, so you dont have to worry about anything.", his eyes lit up dimly for a second, for the first time in years. He quickly composed himself. "And I'm going to be staying here for awhile, because I moved out of the room next door, and Blake is currently somewhere between here and Florence. And about the towel, I didn't think you were up yet."
"Okay then." he said, resting his head on the pillow. He heard shuffling, and turned to see Adrianna getting dressed. He covered his face.
"Could you do that in the bathroom please?" he asked through his hand.
"You said you didn't mind", she said, bending over in front of him to put on her skirt, "and besides, I really don't mind either."
She winked at him and walked out of the room, to be replaced by Refia seconds later.
"Hi!" he said, sitting next to him on the bed. He was dazed, and she knew it. She wiped his face, looking at him closely.
"So Anna's not taking the breakup too hard, is she?" she asked, her eyes trained on him.
"Er...not really?" he said. She furrowed her brow, and then calmed down like she had found the solution to a very hard problem. She sighed.
"We're going to the mall, so get ready." she said, walking out of the room. Tony pushed over the covers laying on top of him, and zombie walked to the bathroom, failing a few times before finally hitting the light switch. He found a note on the counter, along with some of his clothes.
It read, 'Picked these out from your clothes, put them on and meet us in the lobby at 9:15.' he realized Refia had already decided what he was going to wear, and he was grateful.
'She's always looking out for me...' he thought.
Meanwhile the girls were in the lobby, sitting on the brightly drcorated chairs in front of the television. They were watching the news.
"Refia, did you really have to pick out my clothes?" asked Adrianna, looking down at the blue top she was wearing, along with the form-fitting black skirt and heels.
"Yes, I did. You need to dress like you're single." she said matter-of-factly.
"Yeah, Anna, just roll with it." said Clara, looking down at a magazine she held in her hands.
"Easy for you to say..." replied Adrianna grudgingly.
All of the guys who walked through the doors to the hotel immediately started staring at her, and this caused a lot of them to drop their coffees and bump into people.
'And so it begins' she thought, holding her head down. She was surprised to feel a hand on her shoulder. She looked up, to see Tony standing there, looking down at her.
