Not joking anymore

      I stepped out of the shower feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Today had been stressful and I really didn't want to go back to school so I called Thalia and had her drive me home.she hesitated but then saw my desparite tired face and quietly agreed.

   After drying and brushing my hair I walked out of the washroom to find Addy......my old friend sitting on my bed. 

    Her hair was greasy and her hazel eyes where swollen from crying, she wore a fitted black leather jacket and black leggings. Every thing about her screamed expensive, her waist length black hair (that I secretly envyed) was pulled into a tight pony tail.

      When I first met her she couldn't care less about her apearence. She would come to school waring ripped jeans and a plain black tank top   (that would sometimes ride up a little showing off her toned abs.)now as I look at her face I see tired pleading eyes which obviously had expensive cosmetics smeared all over. And chalky pale skin.

  What happened to her......   I felt my body tens and my jaw tighten.

"You decided to show up.... Now, a year later! No letters no texts nothing to assure me that you were alive! Y-you just left. Gone. Like you where never here! I-I thought you died or where kidnapped!....... Do you have any idea how much pain you inflicted on Thalia and me." I cried slowly backing toward the door.

"Katie wate, I -i can explain" she crooked "I... You don't understand....... Katie...I "

    Even now, a year later seeing her like this was hard. I wanted so badly to reach out to her and ask what was wrong... But I didn't. "Don't call me that, my name is Katrina not Katie so get out of my house now!" I yelled making her eyes well up with tears.

  "MY DAD DIED KATIE" she screamed "I couldn't handle it I-I started seeing things and- and" she stopped and I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. "I started going crazy. M-my mum got scared so she drugged me and I woke up in a mental institute!" Tears where running down her face now as I struggled to hold back tears my self. "She left me Katie, she ran away and never once looked back for me." 

"But you s-said your dad w-was getting better!" I cried. It was to much I couldn't believe her." NO....no y-your lying, that didn't happen, there is no chance, you....."

"It's true b- but after some therapy they said I was fine and they tryed to contact my mother with no luck....."a tear fell on her cheek "I am so so sorry for what I did to you and Thalia and ...Marie. 

     Myentire body tensed, I locked my eyes on the floor she seemed to notice this because next she asked the one question that sent shivers down my spine and made me want to chug a bottle of bleach.

    "Where is Marie"
