Marry Christmas everyone. I hope you have a happy and safe one.  Also so there is two or three more chapters after this one and it will be the end.

It has been a week since the war broke out. Dax stayed in the room and Calin stayed with him. Still no word on who's winning. And still no word from Vlad. Dax knows he's still alive for he feels it in his heart. No one has come to the door since the two men.

Dax watches from the window now and then to see if he can see anyone. Vlad II, Radu, Cneajina or even Teo and his father, but nothing. He doesn't know if they are still fighting, ran from the fight changed side or worst dead.

Calin helps keeps him busy some of the time. Playing board games, reading or Dax teaching Calin how to write. Dax even showed him his cell phone. To which he forgot all about. And to Dax surprise, it still works. He showed him pictures he has on it. Telling Calin who each the people are how they meet.

Dax told him of his travels. He talked about his childhood, which wasn't much of one. Clain would tell Dax how life was way back then. How most of the other kids his age didn't want to play with cause of who his dad is. Some of the people would call him names. He told of how he almost got kidnapped, but Radu stopped it.

Nighttime has fallen on them once again. Calin asleep safe in Dax's arms as he looked out the window from the bed. From this point of view, he couldn't see the fighting but he can still hear it. All he could see was the night sky. Every night he would try and count the stars until he falls asleep and he would start over again the next night.

Some nights Dax could sleep and other nights he would wake up to nightmares. The first nightmare was the war was over and their side had won. Dax would run to find Vlad but couldn't find him anywhere with the others. So he would go to the castle he looked everywhere but in his bedroom. He would walk in and see Vlad and Teo in a moment of passion. At that point, Dax would wake up with tears in his eyes.

The one nightmare that he has been having more and more. The war was over. Dax found Vlad on the battlefield with the other. They all are happy. Dax runs to Vlad before he could get to him Jusztina comes out of nowhere. At first, everyone thought she was going to Vlad and kill him. But instead, she turns to Dax and stabs him in the heart. And the last thing Dax hears is Vlad telling him he loves him and Calin crying in the background.

After that, he wakes up and can't go back to sleep in fear of having the dream again. Dax kisses the top of Calin's head pulling him closer to him and falls asleep.

The next morning it was oddly quiet. No sound of a fight anywhere. Dax slowly opens the door and pecked out the door to see if he could hear or even see anyone nothing. "Dax, can we finish our game?" Calin asked. "Sure thing buddy," Dax said he closed the door and made his way to the bed where the chess game waits.

Vlad looked at his father, brothers, and sons. John and his gang of misfits have disappeared in the night. All anyone could remember is they were fight and out of nowhere they just disappeared, like the snow in the spring. It wasn't the night of the full moon that sometime next week. There was nothing in the books about it. There was an uneasy feeling in the air. Everyone could feel it.

"Keep an eye. Watch each other backs. They have something plan I can feel it." Vlad told everyone. 'da domnule (Yes Sir)" Everyone yelled back. Vlad walked back to the tent that held their office. "WHERE THE HELL DID THEY GO?" Vlad yelled. "We have no idea son. Teo and Stefan have been working all night since they disappeared." Vlad's father told him.

"I want them found, I want them dead," Vlad said. "When they do come back we will kill them. No more pity fighting. I want them gone." Vlad said as he walked out of the tent.

"Do you think the war stopped Dax?" Calin asked. "I don't know no one came to get us, so I'm thinking not," Dax told him. "I don't hear anything any more papa," Calin said. "Me either. We will want until someone gets us just to make sure okay bud." Dax said. "Okay," Calin said.

They went back to their game. That was until they heard a voice calling for them. Dax and Calin moved close to the door to hear better. They could still hear it. Dax opens the door a little. "Dax, Calin the war is over we have won." The voice sounds like Vlad. Dax opens the door and pecked out.

Down the hall, they saw a shadow that looked to be Vlad. "Daddy" Calin yelled and ran to the shadow. Dax got a better look. "CALIN NO," Dax yelled and ran after him. Dax pushed Calin away. He took the sword the chest. "I know that would work," Jusztina said with an evil smirk.

She walked way yell we won. "Calin go find your father," Dax told him Calin took off running. Dax layed there in a pool of his blood. His last thoughts where he never got to tell Vlad he loves him and he never got to be a papa to the three boys.

Before everything went dark Dax saw many shadows running his way. Then all went dark.
