my mother used to tell me,
all you ever did was
cry
when you were a babye v e r y d a y.
the endless shrieks
of a tiny creature
robbed my mother
of her sanity
and the creature swallowed it
whole
to compensate
for its lack there of
only then
was it calm.only a goddess (my mother)
could love
m̶e̶ a monster
wholeheartedly.
