oh dad.
you were so preoccupied
paving a smooth path for me
so i would not have to tread upon
the jagged stones you did
that you didn't notice
i had already forged my own~ "i know you never want me to experience the life of poverty you did as a child. i know that you want me to surpass you in every area of my life, but i don't wanna be a doctor, or an engineer or a lawyer."
i want to be a poet.
