Cato's POV: Slowly I opened my eyes, quickly realizing where I was I quickly got out of the bag, slinging on a backpack. I looked down to see Ivy peacefully, curled into a ball. Kneeling down I quickly shook Ivy. She too was a light sleeper, she was still slightly disoriented "Cato? What's going on?" She asked in a hushed voice, "Come on." Wasting no time she quickly gathered her knives, placing them into their proper slots, and placed her fallen hair into a ponytail. Quickly taking her hand I began to track away from our camp. "Wait, I forgot something." I nodded as she quickly made her way back to camp, filling a 2 backpacks with basic necessities. And slowly made her to the sleeping 6.
Ivy's POV: I knew what I was about to do was risky, but when we left and 1 found out they would kill him. Shaking the young boy awake I quickly slipped him one of the better survival knives. "Why?" He asked groggily. "Cato and I are running, before 1 wakes cut off your binds and run." I said simply as he nodded eyes still open. "Good luck. " I whispered as I ran back to Cato as the boy began on his binds.
Cato's POV: "I saw what you did." I turned to Cato handing him one of the backpacks. "A monster wouldn't do that." He said quietly, as he took my hand in his as we began our trek toward the more rocky areas. "Any reason why we're ditching them?" I asked as we say by a creek, beginning to fill out canteens. Cato sighed, "They were talking about killing you, in your sleep, your most vulnerable stage." He said shaking his head. "I couldn't let that happen. Ivy, I know you might think that this is all for the games. It's not Ivy, I swear to you." She nodded before a smile appeared on her face. "Thank you." She whispered before turning back to fill her canteen.
