 January 10, 2019.

It was an average day at school. My name is Kendall and I'm currently listening to my teacher talked about physics or whatever. I'm not really into school as you can see. Some stuff about me is that I'm a junior at Maple High School and I have an average life. After this class is finally lunch where you will meet my closest friends.

I settled myself besides Paris. Paris is my other half. We are very close and I have no idea where I would be without her. Her boyfriend Dom is sitting to the left of her. They have been dating since freshman year. They are becoming more serious than just  'puppy love'. Sitting in front of me is Colton. Colton and I have a interesting friendship. Well we met when I tricked him into eating dog poop. What can I say I was in kindergarten. Lastly, sitting to the right of Colton is Levi. Levi is the smart one of the group. He actually cares about school and we have been best friends since fifth grade when he tutored me in math.

And there you have it. Just the five of us since middle school. We don't belong in any group such as jocks or geeks. We have always been our own little group.

"So, Kendall are you going to bring that french grade up?" Levi jokingly said. "Shut up, nerd." I responded with a frown.

"Guys please no arguing today. I'm trying to eat these blueberries in peace." Paris stated. "Fine." We all said simultaneously while extending the 'n'.

"So Dom. Are you going to ask Paris to homecoming?" I half whispered. "Kendall don't spoil the surprise!" Dom said a little too loud. "What surprise?" Paris asked curiously. "Um nothing." Dom quickly said while glaring at me.

After lunch was study hall which we all have except Levi because he has AP classes. The study hall room is near the front of the school so we have a view of the parking lot. The desks are arranged in boring rows like usual. Our teacher Mr. Ross is very lenient so we just talk and have fun. I made my way to the back corner of the room where I see Paris, Dom, and Colton sitting on the dark blue chairs. I put my backpack down and have a seat in the desk behind Paris.

"Kendall did you hear that baby Colton has a crush on Rebecca Lann." Dom says while winking at Colton. "Rebecca Lann? Wow our baby Colton really blossomed." I said while laughing.

"Shut up she is hot." Colton shrugged while frowning. "Colton sorry to break it to you but Rebecca is the diva of the school and you are just ordinary." Paris giggled.

While Colton was trying to switch the subject I really had to go to the bathroom. I nudged Paris and we went together. I don't know why but I never like to go to the bathroom alone. It creeps me out being alone on the cold tile butt naked.

While walking we heard really loud sirens. I ignored it at first but it was louder than usual. Again I ignored it. When I was done with my business I started to fix my hair in the bathroom mirror until loud sounds boomed through the school. Men were screaming 'EVERYONE GET ON THE GROUND'

Paris and I were looking at each other speechless. Was it a terrorist attack? Was it a joke? The men were getting closer to the bathroom and without thinking I grabbed Paris and we hid in the stall. Paris turned off the bathroom lights. That was a smart move on her behalf. Thankfully the men passed the bathroom.

While sitting in the dark we heard terrible sounds. People crying. Teachers protesting. Paris and I are so confused. What is happening. While sitting for another century the sounds finally die down. To be safe I waited longer just in case they are still there. Paris took out her phone and called 911.

Only to hear, "911 is no longer available due to government regulations."

"W-what!" We look at each other. How could this be. What is happening.

I go on my phone and the internet is blowing up all I see is,

"Government is exterminating people due to overpopulation. Everyday millions people will die until the population will go from ten billion to one million. May God be with you."

I looked at Paris with so many emotions rushing through me. I couldn't believe it. The government is killing more than 9 billion people. I was so shocked I couldn't even comprehend how severe this situation is.

The only question I had was...

Are my parents ok?
