I woke up early today and decided to see if someone else was awake. Walking around in my sweatshirt and shorts I have reached a room. It was not any different than the others. The moist air filled my lungs. As I stepped inside I saw Levi inside. His head was in his hands and he was crying.

Immediately I ran over to him and gave him a hug. I never saw Levi cry before. He calmed down and I looked into his wet eyes that were covered by black rimmed glasses.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

He shook his head.

He said, "Everything is a mess. Nothing is working out. We are going to get killed."

My eyes started to tear up. I thought Levi had a plan. I had a bit of hope that he would save us. I guess things never go your way in a world like this.

This day has been slow. Everyone is losing hope and it is showing. Less people are playing cards and more people are crying in their beds. There have been rumors of people turning themselves in and taking their lives. Death is so common that it does not faze me anymore. I used to ask myself how can people take their own lives, but now I understand. Everything is so dark and finding the light is impossible. I'm trying to stay strong. I'm trying so hard but I want to escape from this world.

As I played cards with Colton I realized Paris was still not coming. Colton and I shrugged it off and came to a conclusion that she is still sleeping.

After a couple more rounds of me winning I decided to check on her. Colton stayed behind to set up the next game. I walked through the dimly lit rooms until I finally found ours. I saw Paris curled up covered with a blanket sleeping.

"Paris wake up." I quietly whispered.

No reply.

"Paris." I said louder.

I got annoyed so I walked to her bedside and shook her.
She was cold.

"Paris wake up!" I desperately said.

Her arm fell by her side.

"Paris NO."

"COLTON." I screamed on the top of my lungs.

He came in running and gasped at the site. Paris was blue and lifeless. I cried and screamed at her to wake up.

"PARIS!"

Colton hugged me and cried with me. We gripped Paris not wanting to accept it.

I lost my best friend.

I lost her and I will never get her back.

My emotions built up inside me. I quickly rushed to the corner and threw up.

She took her own life.

Paris, my best friend, died in the hands of people who are supposed to protect us. However they went against us. I will never forgive the government. I will survive to get revenge.

I promise.
