Sweat is dripping down my face as I try to think. Maybe the closet? No they will probably look there. Should we escape? No, Colton is injured.

"I have an idea."
Colton looked at me with a questioning face.

"The attic." I quickly said.

In the master bedroom closet there was a ladder you have to pull down. We quickly pulled it down and went up. I helped Colton because of his arm. As we closed the door we were in complete darkness. The sounds of our breathing was filling up the space.The attic was very dusty and the air was heavy.

Then we heard them knock down the front door. We heard them break everything that once belonged to an innocent family.

It took them ten minutes to tear down everything.
"Did they leave?" One of them said in a low demanding voice.
"I think so." Another answered.

We heard them leave the house and they drove off. The sound of the big military trucks was fading away.

I look at Colton's big blue eyes. We were frozen with fear. We were afraid to go out just Incase they faked leaving. I very slowly crawled to the little window and looked outside. The truck was gone. However I was still afraid. The bright daylight filled the attic room as I opened the curtain.

Colton was clutching his arm. It started to ooze. I was afraid that he had an infection. He needs medicine. Now.
