Chapter (43)

Emir was sitting in his office. Drinking. He thought about what happened today. He relived their conversation many times. He knows that he was a jerk with her but what she said hurt him. That's why he was confused. He wasn't the kind of guy that get hurt by what people think of him. Yes he used to get hurt by Nihan's ugly words to him untill he got used to them, it stopped hurting him that much. What Zeynep said today wounded him deeply, but he knows that she was mad and didn't really mean it. Also he kind of deserved it. He provoked her and she exploded. What should he've done? He hated that man. He couldn't control himself when he saw them.
Emir kept looking at his phone expecting her to call but she didn't. Emir thought that maybe she needs some space. Both need it. Maybe their relationship wasn't meant to last. Maybe they are better of as co-parents and nothing more.

Next day Zeynep couldn't take it anymore.  She called him several times and sent him many messages asking him to come by and talk but he ignored them all. Three day passed and Emir continued ignoring her. Her sadness and guilt transformed into rage and frustration.

How dare he ignore her like that? Doesn't he even care abour his son? Zeynep left Poyraz with Pelin, the babysitter and went to Kozcuoğlu holding. She was going to find Emir and she was going to talk to him. He can't ignore her this time.

Zeynep arrived at the holding and was on her way to Emir's office when Galip saw her. He greeted her with a hug which surprised Zeynep very much. He asked about Poyraz and asked her to bring him over to Emir's house so he can see his grandchild. Zeynep promised him to do that and then Galip left. Zeynep was in shock. Well, the big Kozguoglu seems to like her. Interesting.

Zeynep went to Emir office. She couldn't find the secretary so she went inside without knocking. Zeynep froze in her place at what she saw.

Emir was sitting in his chair leaning on the back of it. A woman was standing behind him messaging his shoulders.The woman stopped what she was doing when she saw Zeynep and Emir looked at her. Surprised to see her here.

"Zeynep?"

"Yes, Zeynep"
Zeynep answered coldly and looked at the woman.

"And you would be?...."

"Banu. Emir's bey secretary"

"Aha. Well, miss Banu. Your office was empty obviously, and that's why I came here without a prior notice. Pardon me"

Zeynep said venomously, faking being nice.
Emir stayed seated, watching silently. Banu excused herself and left hustly.
Zeynep glared at Emir. And took a few steps towards him.

"So, I was calling you non stop the previous days. Inless you were dead I don't understand why you wouldn't answer"

"I was busy"

"Ha.. I can see that"
Emir sighed and stood up coming towards her.

"What do you want Zeynep? You said that we're nothing. Why would I be obligated to answer you're calls, huh?"

"Well. Maybe because you have a son? How about that?"

"Poyraz is fine. I've been calling Pelin everyday"

Zeynep's eyes went wide. "Wow. So you've been calling the babysitter instead of me? Why are you acting like this Emir. We had a fight. We should sit and talk about it, not ignore each other. We're not high schoolers for God's sake"

"There's nothing to talk about Zeynep. You were clear that day and I received the info wide and clear. So, since everything is settled. Nothing left to talk about. I'll come by tomorrow after work to see Poyraz" He said shortly.

Zeynep was losing her temper, she didn't know what she needed to control. Her tears or her urge to slap him on his stupid face.

"So, is that how it's going to be from now on?"

"Yes, Zeynep. It's for the best. I have a meeting in a few minutes. Please..." Emir said and turned around giving her his back.

Zeynep's heart broke into shreds.
Emir just made it clear that he is going to be only Poyraz's father nothing more.

"Okay" Zeynep said weakly. She turned around and left without letting him see her tears and left his office hurriedly.

Emir stood still for a few minutes after she left. Then he turned towards his disk and angrily pushed everything Away. Papers and glasses were scattered on the floor. Banu came into his office running after she heard the noise. Emir looked at her and yelled at her to get out. He spent the whole afternoon drinking.

His father came to him later and stopped him.

"What are you doing son? I thought we've gotten rid of those days. Why are you drinking in the middle of the day?"

Galip called for Banu and told her to bring coffee.

"Leave me alone father"

"No. I won't son. Tell me. What got you into this condition? Was it Zeynep"
Emir looked at him sharply.

"Of course not. Why would she put me into this condition. Who's she? She means nothing to me other than the mother of my child. Nothing else"

"Yeah.. yeah.. I believe you. That's why you're acting like a stupid man in love"
Emir laughed.

"What are you saying, father. I would never fall in love. I only loved Nihan. Although she didn't deserve it. But Zeynep doesn't deserve it either. She said I'm nothing to her. Why would I love a woman who doesn't love me father? Why don't they love me?"

"I love you son. And your mother loves you" Emir snorted.

"Yeah. You two are a very lovely parents" He said sarcastically.

"Come on son, lets get you home"

"I don't wanna go home"

"Come on son"

Galip took Emir to his house.

Galip took Emir to his room and put him in his bed.

Müjgan was so worried about her son.
"What happened Galip? What happened to him? He rarely drink like that and lose himself"

"He's in love" Galip answered simply like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"In love? What do you mean. with  whom? "

"The little miss Soydere. I saw her today at the holding. She came to see Emir and then I found him in this condition. Something happened with them"

"I knew it was a matter of time. These two are made for each other"

"Alright then. Let's do this. I'll talk to him and you talk to the girl. Maybe we could help"

Müjgan raised her eyebrows,  looking at him with a surprised expression.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I didn't think you have this side inside of you? The human side"
Galip smirked.

"I don't have it. But I'll do anything to see Emir happy. I would have done anything to save Asu from her darkness if I knew about her earlier but you hid her with that man and her life was ruined"

"If you knew about her earlier you would have killed her Galip. Don't put the blame on me alone. We both made mistakes. And our children payed the price"

"We can't go back in time. But we can do something for Emir now. It's not too late"

Galip turned around and left. Müjgan went to Emir's room and sat beside him. Caressing his hair.

Zeynep couldn't sleep that night at all. She hugged her billow and cried the whole night. Her heart hurts. Her soul hurts. Everything hurts. And what made it hurt the most is the realization that she loves Emir very much. But she ruined it all. She shouldn't have said what she said. But he was cruel to her too. She couldn't stop thinking. They were happy. Why do all this happened. Why can't they just be happy. She lost him. She lost him once again. She cried her self to sleep that night. Hopping that the new situation wouldn't affect Poyraz.
