Chapter 4

Satan wasn't exactly jumping for joy, when he heard about how my college target had caused quite a commotion. A slimy devil decided to be a snitch and spill the beans, which only resulted in being on the receiving end of Satan's short temper. And trust me when I tell you, it was not pretty.

Satan called the disposable phones and sent demons up to retrieve me, but I managed to evade their advances each and every time. If I did go to him, then I would only be adding fuel to the fire and my best bet was to wait until he mellowed down. So to pass time, I guess I will be working.

With a sigh, I raked a hand through my hair and threw my black sunglasses on the ground. The disguise was actually pointless anyway so...... why was I wearing it? I ripped the over sized, mens suit, off my body, leaving me in my leather motorcycling outfit. I honestly didn't feel like riding my bike today, so I decided to walk around and find my new target.

He was pretty easy to spot. Dark brown hair and grey eyes with a mole on his cheek bone. Wearing a plain t-shirt and faded jeans, he sat down on the park bench, ignoring the world. Envy threatened to break through my emotionless wall but I managed to keep the emotion in check. The park was basically empty and I grabbed my dagger, hugging it inside my now bleeding palm. Two black shadows, stood over the man and I clicked my tongue in annoyance. Just a couple of devils who needed to be put in their place.

Like I predicted them to do, they snatched the man off the bench and started to rip him apart. Their sharp talons, digging into the soft flesh, cutting off his cries of pain and the snapping of his bones. Humans were fragile things, getting hurt by the smallest accidents.....

When the demons noticed me standing there, watching them. They dropped the freshly ripped corpse and bared their teeth at me. Blood dripping from the tips of their fingernails, they lunged. In one swift movement, I had my dagger plunged into the chest of one of the demons, where the heart was supposed to be. It gurgled incoherently, before pulling my knife out and falling to it's knees. I knew he wasn't going to be dead, so I kicked the demon in the head, listening to the loud 'crack!' of bone as he lifelessly, collapsed.

Before I could gather myself together, the second demon crashed into me. Turning the fight into a grappling match. I ignored his sharp talons ripping cuts into my skin and as he got on top of me, I head butted him. Not letting my dizziness or ringing pain slow me down, I scrambled to my feet and dove for my dagger, that was lying next to the first demon's body. Crashing onto the grass, I grabbed the dagger, just as the demon jumped on top of me. Piercing his own, heartless body and rolled over dead as my fist met his temple.

I pushed his body off mine and stayed on the ground, catching my breath. I haven't fought with a demon in years and apparently, I was a little rusty. Getting up, I looked at the mangled corpse of the man. Tilting my head to the side, I debated wether to clean it up or leave. Choosing the latter, I turned on my heel and headed to a place for dinner.

The body was ripped up enough, to look like an animal attack. A very Large, animal attack.

I quickly ordered a big mac and large fries, ignoring the shocked and concerned looks from strangers. It was like they've never seen a girl in a ripped up, leather suit and cuts all over her body. I sat down in a booth by myself, cursing life when I saw who opened the Mc Donald's doors.

Of course, it was the one person who just had happened, to be walking by and decided to go into Mc Donald's. It was that college kid named Matt Daniels. Or should I say, THE Matt Daniels. Right when he opened the door with a full blown smirk, girls hiked up their skirts and lowered the neck line of their tops. It was so utterly degrading to even sit around and watch. I bit into my burger, slightly frustrated when all I could feel, was the tasteless ingredients slip down my throat.

He leaned over the counter and winked at the girl who was taking his order. Blushing, she kept her eyes glued onto the cash register as he ran his fingers through his dirty blonde hair.

"Um, I would like a-"

I immediately wanted to roll my eyes as I watched her practically drool over him like a love sick puppy. I would never understand why human girls are so determined to center their worlds around one guy, who obviously isn't going to do the same thing. And I learned that the hard way........

Letting out a sigh, I threw away my big mac that I only had taken one bite out of, and headed for the exit. But of course, the most annoying human on earth, had to recognize me.

"And can I also have a- wait? Do I know you?"

And just like that, it was like One Direction decided to throw a concert in the middle of a grocery store. All eyes were on me, and practically being an assassin for the under lord. Did not help my job, once so ever. I threw on a stiff grin and shook my head, slightly irritated.

"No, I'm sorry. We have never met."

He raised his eyebrows disbelievingly before a confused expression crossed his face as he, gathered his food together. I know I'm not a famous actor, but that almost blew my cover.

I nearly ran, out of the fast food place, as I eagerly disappeared onto the empty street. Looking back at the place one more time, I internally cringed.

It was hard to try and eat something, your body doesn't allow anymore. And yet here I am, everyday, trying to turn back into the way I was before.

Human.

Something dropped onto my head, and soon, that something transformed into a raging storm of rain drops. The street lights were blurred my the never ending tears, falling from the clouds. My clothes, clung to my skin and my shoes, sloshed in the newly, formed puddles. I looked up at the sky and sighed.

At least, mother nature knows how to express my emotions.
