Chapter 7To be honest, I was kind of surprised. Usually my visits to Hell were quite spontaneous and never this frequent. I didn't know whether to laugh or sob at my bad luck. It seems working for Satan has just made a turn for the worst. Lord knows what kind of excuse he is going to come up with now, to punish me. Not that I cared really. It was his annoying demon messengers that grated my nerves. They climb up the hole with their dramatic fog and start hissing every word like their some kind of snakes. It might be frightening to a new idiot, but imagine having to watch the same dramatic entrance for more than a year.
The one demon that seemed to get on my nerves the most was definitely Luke. He happens to be Satan's head demon, so whenever he isn't kissing ass, he is simply meddling with quests. MY quests, to be more accurate.
Despite being happy to continue attempting to kill him, I knew I would have to transport into hell with him. Ignoring my irritated expression, Luke stood up from my couch and used one of his talons to rip my carpet floor open. Then he closed his eyes,(cue the stupid fog) a gaping hole suddenly swallowed my living room. I knew he made it twice as large then the regular demons did, just to piss me off. And it worked.
Shoving him head first into the hole, a smirk crawled onto my face when I heard the sound of his head smashing and cracking into the hard charcoal floor. Jumping in right after him, I steeled my legs for the impact and ignored the twist of my ankle.
The room was empty and I looked at Luke's smashed head in confusion as I took in the setting. The heat licked at my skin but I hastily ignored it. His body sat up before taking the remains of the smashed head on the ground and using a spell to put it back together. Shooting a icy glare in my direction when he twisted it back on and placed all of the skin back into place. "We're in the meeting room, boss man wanted to talk to you in here."
My eyebrows forwarded but when the door creaked open, Luke and I slammed our knees onto the ground with our heads bowed. He stopped in front of me and sent a swift kick into my face, causing it to fly to the side from the impact. I could already see the bruise I would be sporting tomorrow.
Luke snickered low enough for me to hear, at least until he heard the next words that slid out of Satan's mouth. "You two are now going to be completing the quests together. That includes living together as well, because apparently one worthless demon can't complete it alone." The demon insult was obviously aimed at me, but the fact that Luke was going to be living in my apartment is what set me off.
Shooting a glare into his eyes, I growled, "I can handle it alone". Even Luke sucked in an audible breath at my rebellious statement. Satan simply smirked and waved us off. Two demon guards grabbed our shoulders and literally lurched us back up the hole.
Slamming into my apartment's white ceiling wasn't exactly appealing, but watching Luke's face get smashed to pieces again was surely fulfilling. The gaping hole closed back up but my carpet remained with a large slit in the middle.
With a sigh I glanced at Luke's equally annoyed expression before pointing to my raggedy couch.
"There's the presidential suite, welcome to hotel, Hate My Life."
