We walked through the forest and came to a rocky area. I climbed up some and spread my arms out to keep my balance while walking. I went lopsided a few times but I remained on my feet thank god. We got past the rocky area and walked on the flat surface again.
We came across an unstable bridge and a cliff. I gulped. I really hate heights. I looked at the bridge and the planks were ready to fall and the ropes were ready to snap. I swallowed hard and looked at Aguilar.
"I'll go first." He said and walked on the bridge. I watched him carefully. A wooden plank got loose and jumped to the other one and made it to the other side. "Easy Buttercup!" He yelled. I nodded and put my foot on the plank and it shifted underneath my weight.
Aguilar came onto the bridge again and grabbed my hand. "It's fine, I've got you." He said looking into my eyes. I looked into his and slowly nodded. We made it to the other side. I made an O shape with my lips and he chuckled.
We walked in and climbed down the cliff and I tripped on a rock and Aguilar caught me. "Klutz." "Nimrod."
He put me down and we walked on. "What next a troll I suppose." I said sighing. We came across a gigantic cave and Aguilar grabbed a stick and ripped the bottom of his shirt and wrapped it around it and grabbed a match and he put it around the cloth.
"We need to go through his cave to continue our journey." He said. "Let's go!" He walked into the cave. "R.I.P" I said and blessed myself and walked in after him.
As we walked deeper into the cave there was a horrible smell. I gagged. "Smells like bogeys." I said holding my nose. "Probably is Bogeys." He replied and kept walking. I gagged once again and something crunched underneath my foot. I looked down to see a human skull. My eyes widened and I held my scream. I kept close to Aguilar.
Bones crunched underneath our feet and I heard a groan. "Was that you?" I asked. "No, you?" He asked. I shook my head. There was another groan. We looked at each other. Aguilar shone his torch can out and that's when we saw it. A troll. "You shouldn't of jinxed it!" He hissed. "I was being sarcastic." I defended. "I'm surprised you even know sarcasm is." He said. I glared at him.
I looked at the troll. He looked 15 feet tall. He was big, fat and smelt. He was a mountain troll. I gulped. "I see the exit over there if we get around him slowly, carefully and quietly he won't wake up." Aguilar whispered. I saw the dim light of the cave as well. I took a deep breath and nodded.
He took my hand and I followed his footsteps. He stepped on a bone and we stopped dead in our tracks. The troll shifted and groaned. It went back to sleep again. I let out a silent sigh and we continued to get across him. Aguilar made it and I was right behind him until I stepped on a pile of bones. I gulped. The snoring had stopped. I heard shuffling and something getting up.
"Don't move." Aguilar whispered. I swallowed hard and shut my eyes. "Stay calm." He whispered. I couldn't help myself I looked up at the beast before my eyes and my eyes widened. He roared with all his mighty and the cave shook. He grabbed his huge spiky bat and swung it at us and we ducked down and it hit a large stone crushing it. He swung it the opposite direction and it hit another large stone.
"Run." Aguilar said. I didn't move. The cave began to crumble. "Run!" He yelled and we both ran for our life's towards the exit. The Troll chased us and large stones began to fall all over to the place. A few small ones hit us and we kept running hand in hand. Our exit got blocked and we took a right.
Aguilar held up his torch to guide us. The ground also began to break. We saw the other exit. Some large stones were there but we could make it. Probably.
The troll got nearer and we didn't even think or have a debate on what to do. We ran up on the large stone that was like a ramp and we jumped as the cave behind us fell underground and the the exit blocked.
