Today was the day. Today I was going to lose everything I "had" with Kenzie. as I straighten one last strand of hair, I hear a knock on my door followed by a piercing "let me in!" noise. "Hayden, you know it's open!" I sigh. "Hurry up!" he answers, grabbing my backpack and tossing it on me. Annoyed by the massive weight thrown on me, I pull Hayden downwards by his backpack. "Um, rude!" he jokes. I smile, dashing towards the door. "Hey, I think you're going to be late." I reply sarcastically, shutting the door. He runs out seconds later, his soft hands in his bouncy,
curly hair. "Hustle hustle!" he panics.________________________________

Unlike the last two days, Hayden managed to stay next to me while we were scrimmaging through the halls until I feel someone tug on my backpack. "Hey Anns!"It was Kenzie.
"Hey, only I call her Anns!" Hayden pouts. I roll my eyes at him right before I answer Kenzie. "Hi Kenz!"
"Is it okay if we sit with Jayden and Lauren at lunch today too? It's okay if you don't, I'd understand." Something about her comment made her sound like she wouldn't understand.
"Yeah, come on Annie! The boys and I moved tables so now we sit with their group!" Hayden begged.
Wait, Hayden was sitting near Jayden? Did he not realize all she'd done to me?
"Okay, sure." I smile.

"Does anyone know the answer to this equation? How about Dylan?"I try to whisper the answer to her, but she can't comprehend what I'm saying. "Uhh...triangle?" she guesses. Mr. Jeffries throws his head in his hands. "The answer is x=8.7." he scoffs.
"Dyl! Did you not see me trying to tell you that?" I whisper.
"No, maybe your other friends are able to hear you better."
"What are you talking about?"
"Annie, admit it, you're two-faced. You only talk to me in this class, but once you see Jayden and her clique you become an entirely different person."
"No, it's not like that! Jayden hates me!" I confirm.
"Doesn't seem like it." Dylan replies right as the bell rings.
If only losing a friend was the text message I received.

lunch
•
"Hey guys, I hope you're okay with Annie sitting with us from now on!" Kenzie squeals.Everyone remains silent, turning their heads to me. I look down at my salad, not making eye contact with anybody. "Well, lets go get lunch." Jayden suggests as the whole table begins to head to the lunch line. "You coming?" Hayden asks. "No, I'm okay." I answer.
Minutes later, it looked as if all the kids around me were far into the lunch line. Keeping an eye out, I pull out a hot sauce bottle (my mom is going to kill me if she finds out I stole this from the kitchen) and open up Kenzie's Pink Drink from Starbucks. Turns out a lot comes out of the bottle at once, and before I knew it I poured half the bottle into the drink and the other half all over the table and the floor. I immediately grab napkins and clean it up. After, I quickly close and shake the Pink Drink just seconds before Kenzie and the group make it back to the table.
