I heard shuffling around me. My heart beat was pounding so loudly in my head that I'm surprised I'm not deaf. I tried to opening my eyes and was met with a bright light. My eyes started to focus on things around me. I was laying on the ground in a meadow just outside of what I think is a camp site. That when it all came back to me. I frantically tried to get my eyes to focus so I could find Lailah but it was just making me lightheaded. Finally my eyes focused on a shape a few feet away. It was probably sometime around noon, and as I focused my eyes, I saw light brown hair nicely pinned up with now dead flowers barely hanging on to her hair. and I saw a dark moss green dress ripped and torn.  Then my eyes finally focused on her face.

"Lailah?" I asked. Her eyes snapped open and met mine. She sat up in a flash as tears started to form in her eyes.

"Aria, your okay!" she said, obviously relieved more damaged wasn't done.

"Oh Lailah, I'm so sorry, I should have never let you out of my sight!" I stated as tears welled in my eyes. I tried to get to my feet and get to her and give her my biggest apology hug ever. I stood up and she just looked at me confused. I took a step forward and her eyes widened. she tried to say something, but I had tried to walk with my other foot but I realized something was attached to my ankle. I looked down and saw a thick chain holding onto a shackle on my ankle and at the other end a large heavy iron ball.  I was suddenly sobbing because of it.  I fell to my knees and sobbed into my hands.  I felt Lailah try to crawl over to me but the chain restricted her from giving me a hug, so she just rubbed my back.  I couldn't believe this had happened to me.  How could I be here, at a recruitment camp, chained to a 40 pound iron ball.

I sobbed for a few more minutes until my throat and eyes were red and puffy.  I finally brought my head up to look at Lailah.  She was still rubbing my back as best as she could in a strange position, with a forlorn expression on her face with a sad smile.  I appreciate how she was trying to make me feel better, but how could this get better, it could only get worse...

"How many days have I been out?" I asked as the throbbing became more amplified.

"A few days, we are quite a ways from the city.  As soon as you were out, they loaded us in carts."  She said still trying to sooth me, "Hayden seemed genuinely concerned for you and me, he put us in his cart instead of with the other people they captured,"  I began to wonder when my attention was dragged to something else.

My head snapped towards the groan that came from behind me.  I looked over to a iron cage with a handle made of silver, and there lying in the cage was Seth.  I scrambled to my feet and forgetting the chains, sprinted to his cage.  I was a few feet away when the chain stopped and I fell forward now with a throbbing foot.  I looked to him, he was still lying unconscious in the cage.  I started frantically trying to get a hold of him to maybe get him to wake up.  I finally got a strong grasp of his pants and started to try to pull him closer.  I started to slowly move up his calf, to his knee, to his thigh, to his hip, to his stomach.  I had finally gotten to his chest when he let out a groan.  Everything suddenly looked much more bright.
