ACT III
SCENE 1
At RISE
(Juliet walks around her bedroom. She is so bored, so she sits down on her bed located at the center of the bedroom.)
JULIET
This day is so boring that I feel like a child on the night before a holiday. Yes, I now belong to Romeo but, where is he?
(Juliet lies down but gets up immediately as the Nurse arrives.)
NURSE
No, it's a sad day! He's dead! We're ruined, Juliet, we're ruined! He's gone. He's been killed. He's dead!
(The nurse is panting. Juliet stands up, faces the nurse and shakes her.)
JULIET
What happened to Romeo?!!! Say he's still alive! He's not dead yet! Is he?! Is he dead?!
(Juliet shakes the Nurse's shoulders frantically.Nurse stops Juliet.)
NURSE
No. Not Romeo, your cousin Tybalt, he's dead! He's been killed.
JULIET
(The news startles Juliet. They've been in silence for a few seconds then she speaks softly.)
By whom?
NURSE
By your husband!
JULIET
(Juliet panics after hearing the news.)
What? Why? How? How could he possibly kill him? He can't do that.
NURSE
Yes, he can. It is because Tybalt killed Romeo's bestfriend and Romeo took revenge and accidentally killed him. And now he was been restricted from Verona. They are crying and mourning over Tybalt's corpse. Are you going to join them? I'll bring you there.
JULIET
(Juliet sits on her bed and cries.)
You don't need to. My husband is exiled from Verona and I don't know what will happen to him outside the kingdom. I need to find him and I won't fail to.
NURSE
Fine, I'll find Romeo to comfort you. I promise you your husband tonight.
(Nurse holds Juliet's hands)
JULIET
Oh, find him! And tell him to come here to say his last goodbye.
NURSE
(The Nurse hugs Juliet. The curtains close and lights off.)
