Hello! Happy New Year, it's 2018!!! Anyway, I'm back and feeling inspired (1st day of school today) for some strange reason so I'll be continuing this story!

;) So.... they arrive at the colonies!

Written 8th Jan 2018.

Lilly stood on the deck of the small ship, breathing in the fresh, crisp, warm air and admiring the beautiful blue ocean- although, in her opinion, the ocean was rather plain in comparison to someone's eyes - nevertheless, it was a sight to see.

They had been sailing for just less than two weeks and would be due to arrive anytime.

Lilly had never imagined she'd be this happy; life with her Aunt and sisters back in England was restricted, bleak and cold. Yes, she had friends - but... as much as they would sit together and plan schemes of the female revolution in length, it was the feminism that brought them together, and Lilly was disappointed to admit they weren't that close.

Suddenly, she felt two arms wrap around her waist and she smiled. How could she ever regret making this choice? Not only was she truly free, she was happy and with the person she cared about most.

"We'll be arriving soon," Rikkard said. "Let me remind you, this place is very different from England. All the crooks and drunkards aren't tucked away in the corners of the city, only coming out at night but - "

" - are gallivanting around at all times, even in bright daylight. I know, I know." Lilly finished, boredom leaking into her voice.

Rikkard let a small smile creep onto his face. "I know you know."

Changing the topic, Lilly began asking about what they would do in the colonies, and where they would go, as the colonies (what we now know as the US (if I'm not wrong, lol)) is a very large place.

"Potential investments are the new railway branch and this man who discovered vulcanization*," Rikkard said.

"Vulcan-izay what?"

"Vulcanization. It makes rubber stronger,  so it can withstand extreme temperatures. Rubber is used to seal gaps in machinery."

"Oh. I see. Anyway, where will we be staying?" Lilly asked, curious.

"I plan to ask an acquaintance for lodging." Rikkard replied, wondering if they would welcome him or not. He hoped so, for he would hate to go to the place he lodged before.

"An acquaintance? Who will that be?"

*-. insert story from Before the Storm by Robert Their - go read it it's amazing.-*

"I see. I think I'm starting to like this Pearl!" Lilly said, excited at the prospect of meeting someone who sounded like a potential feminist. However, she did not know that Rikkard had omitted some parts of the story... nevertheless, Pearl would surely fill her in. ;)

"LAND HO!" called the captain, and they began yet another adventure.

..-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- a small time skip since I'm sure unloading baggage is exciting xD .--.-.-

"Will we be going now?" Lilly asked excitedly.

"We will after my dogs arrive." Rikkard says.

"You have dogs? Are they friendly?" Lilly asks, as, in one of the many books she read, dogs were man's best friend. She was determined to prove that they would be women's best friend too.
