Chapter 14

Jack J's POV:

Dana is so fun to be around and boy she isn't afraid of eating that much infront of me.  We get along really well but when she talked about Dani, I couldn't help but ask about her. She tells me that it's not her story to tell and I completely understand. We go on with our conversation laughing so much.

We are currently playing lazer tag and everything is going well until this guy comes along and rescues Dana. Ugh look at Dana she is drooling. I mean what does he have that I don't? Who am I kidding he has everything that I don't. Why am I thinking this way? I mean I like Mallory back home. I mean sure Dana and I have some connection but I'm sure nothing is gonna happen between us. I realize I've been thinking too much when I notice Dana and that guy staring at my vest, I didn't even realize that my vest is beeping. God, does this mean I have to leave her with this guy? I nod at her, glare at the guy and walk out. What the heck am I supposed to do while I wait for them? After leaving that hot humid area I enter this air conditioned room to wait. I'm starting not to feel well from this sudden temperature change but I try to brush it off so I could spend the rest of the day with Dana.

She comes out laughing with that dude and I clear my throat signalling her so that we could leave. I see her give her number to the guy and I just glare at him. What the heck?

We walk out of the area talking about going somewhere else to spend more time, she hops onto my back and my body starts to shake uncontrollably.

Dana's POV:

I hop onto Jack's back and he starts to shake alot. I get worried and hop off him,  looking at him with my hand touching his face, he has a fever.

"Let's get back to the hotel" I say while calling a cab.

We get to his hotel room, he runs to his bathroom and pukes. I bring him a glass of water and help him get to his bed. No one is back in the hotel. I'm the only one here to take care of him. I bring a towel and drench it in a bowl of water.

"What if I die Dana?" he asks.

"Don't be stupid this is not titanic" I chuckle "And even if it was, I wouldn't be selfish and leave you to die"I say while looking for some asprin in my bag.

"oooo Dana is being sweet to me" Jack teases me.

"I'm only sweet to you babe"

"And that guy back there in the lazer tag area." he rolls his eyes

"Hmmm the great Jack Johnson is getting jealous over some guy?"

"Ew noooo." he answers and that's what hit me hard.

"Oh.." I look down,  lay the towel on his head and fake smile.

"Do you want to watch anything?"

I just ignore him and walk to the bathroom. I stay in the bathroom longer than I should. I thought I might be into that Jared guy if i get to know him but this Jack thing is bothering me. Am I not worthy as anything more than a friend to him? Why am I even mad about this? God Dana you're so confusing. I keep thinking to myself until the reek of Jack's puke irritates my nose. This boy didn't even flush his puke. I flush it, walk out and steal a box of chocolates from Jack's kitchen and sit on the couch next to his bed just staring at the TV blankly.

"Dana did I say anything wrong?"

I just ignore him and start scrolling through twitter. Suddenly I get a text from Jared and I immediately light up.  We start texting for a while when Jack asks.

"Who are you talking to?"

"Oh just Jared"

"Wow you're talking to someone you just met? are you serious ?you gave him your number just like that?"

"What the heck Jack? Why do you care? I clearly don't mean anything to you since I'm probably disgusting or something not worth being jealous for."

"Dana I didn't mean it that way."

"Whatever" I storm out of the room and find somewhere I can be alone. I find this room with a piano. Yesss somewhere I can stress play.

I start to play "I hate you don't leave me" by Demi Lovato on the piano and sing along to how I feel. I tend to play when I'm feeling stressed or bothered.
