y/n= your name

2am. Only an hour had passed even though it felt like an eternity since I was locked out of my house. My eyes were heavy with drowsiness, but I just couldn't make myself fall asleep.

*Crack*

"What was that?!?" my mind screamed as I jolted my head up, peering towards the direction of the sound, "Whatever it is, it's in the park."

*Crrack*

It was hard to see through the drenching rain, but I swear I saw a shadowy figure trenching through the area. Suddenly it halted and peered around. I tried to think of something rational, "You must be hallucinating (y/n). Why else would someo- something be in an abandoned park this early in the morning?"

Breathing in, I tried to ignore what just happened and instead think about other things. I had almost completely forgotten about that creature when my phone turned on.

*RING RING*

"Oh no," my instincts kicked in, hitting me with a fear of unknown origin. I quickly slammed the reject button on my phone... but I was too late. Looking up, I saw the figure from before wrench its body to notice me sitting like a duck on the porch.

"It's not real (y/n), it can't be," I tried to reassure myself, yet the figure started to walk closer to me. It started to slowly quicken, changing their speed from a jog to a full-on run.

When it was halfway to me my body seemed to move on its own. I lept from where I was sitting and dashed through the streets, with the shadow inching closer every second. After a minute I found myself stuck in the cul-de-sac in my neighborhood.

I was filled with fatigue as I realized I was stuck. The man (in the light I could tell he was a person) was right next to me without even a drop of perspiration on his face. I stared at him in terror as he strutted towards me, and before I could scream he touched me...

...and everything went black.
