y/n= your name

Kane's POV:

I know it's taboo but I'm constantly finding myself eagerly waiting to give (y/n) her meals. That was the only chance I had to see her in a day, Morren forbade me otherwise. Glancing at the clock in my barren room I noticed that I had an hour remaining before I brought food to (y/n) again.

Standing up and walking towards the kitchen I asked myself, "Whelp... What are you making today for Isabe- I mean (y/n)?" Slightly blushing but trying to ignore my mistake, I rushed to the kitchen to prepare her dinner.

Opening the small fridge of ingredients, I managed to salvage some of the vegetables but almost nothing else. "Hope (y/n) likes salads," I mused while chopping the ingredients. Tossing in iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and some crunchy carrots, I proceeded to mix the trio in the bowl.

A few minutes later I found myself with a tray of salad and a glass of water with two lemon slices. I grabbed the tray and walked downstairs to give (y/n) her meal for the night. Swinging open the door, I saw her as cut- calm as ever. "I hope you don't mind the vegetarian special (y/n), I was running out of food to be honest." "No, it's fine Kane. I'll live," she said.

"WHAAAAAAA?!? I thought she was acting stubborn earlier... Is this a phase? Man, humans are weird," I thought in shock. "What? Can I have my food soon? I'm really hungry," she admitted. Still dazed from before I managed to spurt out, "Y-yeah. Sure," as I fed her. When all was said and done, we decided to have a small conversation like usual.

"What do you do for fun? I only ever hear your boss yelling at you to do one thing or another almost every minute," she asked. "Well.... I don't have much so I usually end up re-reading my favorite romance novel between a rebellious prince and a beautiful peasant. It brings me to tears every time," I responded. After a few more questions we threw at each other, I left (y/n) when she fell asleep.

Heading back to the kitchen, I decided to clean everything up. While doing this I spotted Mullen walking by. "Hey Master Mullen, (y/n- I mean the human's food supply is finished, so I'll have to grab some more ingredients for her," I said before he left. I saw him pause in a hunched stance before walking towards me with anger in each eye.

"You. Already. Used everything?" "Well yeah! How else am I supposed to make fajita chicken nachos..." Suddenly Mullen started screaming, "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU GIVING THAT HUMAN GOOD FOOD?!? HOW DID YOU EVEN BECOME A GOOD CHEF?!?" "(y/n) likes it, and that's all that matters," I pouted before gravely realizing my mistake.
