"How long has it been? Days? Weeks? It might have been a year for all I know," I thought while tugging at my chains for what seemed to be the 1000th time. "Morning (y/n)! I brought breakfast," I heard a familiar voice cheerfully say behind me. I grunted in response, only finding myself with a mouth full of food. "Wait... why does this taste good?" I asked as I ate another bite, forgetting my hatred for a second. "What can I say? I usually don't care what you people eat, but I wanted to make sure you were eating something healthy and decent," he responded, blushing slightly.
Realising my breech of attitude, I quickly reformed myself to question, "Why? I'll be gone soon and then you'll forget everything you practiced so you shouldn't bother. Just give me the same crap you gave everyone else before me."
"Sorry Ma'am, but this obvious gift of cooking cannot be refunded. I hope you don't mind," Kane replied with a playful grin. Chuckling despite of myself I started to realise that he actually cared about me, instead of only treating me like a nobody.
I saw him smile jubilantly as he left the room to continue more tasks. Morren, even with his caution of not letting me hear anything going on upstairs, was extremely loud and I could occasionally hear something breaking in the distance.
"Poor Kane," I sympathized before noticing what I just said, "No! He's a monster (y/n)! You can't feel sorry for him!" Exhaling, I tried pulling at my shackles once more before falling into a deep sleep.
