y/n= your name

In front of me was a thin man, slightly taller than me with blonde hair and green eyes holding a tray full of pungent food.

"I don't think we've met," he said, breaking the silence when I was staring at him. Shaking my head to get out of my trance, I responded with, "Y-yeah. I'm (y/n) and I'm guessing you're Kane?" He chuckled, "Correct!" I gasped when I saw his pointed teeth before remembering the fact that vampires exist. "So.... why are you here? I thought only Morren worked in this job of capturing and selling- you know what I'm saying," I questioned.

"It's a fairly short story," Kane responded, "One day he was hiring and I needed the money so I took the job, and now I'm his apprentice."

Then he realised the tray still resting in his smooth hands, "Oh yeah, you need to eat." Taking a spoon, he tried to feed me the awful-smelling food. As he saw me scrunch up my face in disgust, he rolled his eyes in a playful manner, "I'm sorry your Highness. Next time I'll buy the most expensive food in the land instead of a humble, homecooked meal." While I gawked at his sarcasm, he took the chance to shove a big scoop of glop down my throat.

I gagged as I felt it travel into my stomach. I know he tried his best, but this was repulsing. "Why are you being so friendly with him? He works for the same guy who kidnapped you," I thought whilst trying to pull myself out of the shackles that kept me from standing, keeping me from my freedom.

I stared coldly at him and he seemed taken aback. "Are you going to leave soon?" I asked Kane with a vapid expression on my face. "Uhhhhh..... Sure," he replied awkwardly after grabbing the tray. The door closed behind him, and I was left with an ominous feeling in the the cold, dimly-lit room.
