5 days past since the solstice and Christmas came upon Konoha. Inuyasha and Haru spent the last five days together. Inuyasha and Shippo helped Haru decorate her home. Haru secretly even got presents for everyone. Now as Christmas morning came Haru was up early before Inuyasha and Shippo. She made a Christmas feast, put the presents for them in the living room and made plenty of hot coco. She went Shippo's room. She gently woke him up. But Shippo shot up and raced downstairs remembering it was Christmas. Haru giggled and went to wake Inuyasha. When she entered he was still sleeping, even after all the noise Shippo made. Haru shook him. "Inuyasha, wake up. Its morning. Inuyasha." But he didn't wake. Haru sighed. "Ya know, your a heavy sleeper when it counts Inu." Haru huffed. Then she smirked, a wicked idea coming to mind. Haru kissed his forehead then his cheek. Then she began kissing along Inuyasha's jawline. He groaned but didn't wake up. Haru giggled and kissed down his neck to the juncture to where his shoulder and neck met. His breath hitched and he let out a soft whimper.(Inuyasha:(blushing) Did not! Haru:(blushes and giggles) Me:Do not deny! Besides you were asleep how would you know? Inuyasha: Well I........ Just shut up.) Haru smirked and bit down on his sweet spot. Inuyasha let out a moan and the next thing Haru know he grabs her and pins her to the bed. Inuyasha at first looks at her surprised but then gives her an unamused look. "Really?" Haru gives him a shy smile. "You wouldn't wake up." She said. He smirked and kissed her forehead then pulled her up with him. Haru chuckled. "C'mon, we should get downstairs before Shippo drinks all the Hot Coco." She said. When they got downstairs, Shippo 'was' drinking all the hot coco. Inuyasha got an ark mark and hit Shippo on the head a couple times, not to hard but hard enough. "Hey! What was that for!?" Shippo whined. Inuyasha growled at him. "Haru made that Hot Coco for all of us not just you! SO DON'T GO DRINKING IT ALL!" He shouted. His eyes going white and teeth looking sharper then normal(angry anime face). Haru started laughing at them making them look at her. Inuyasha blushed at how beautiful her laugh was. "C'mon guys let's eat, we can open presents." She said. They nodded. After they ate, they started opening presents in the living room. Shippo got all kinds of prank gadgets and a blue scarf thanks to Haru and the Uzumaki siblings. Then Haru gave Inuyasha her present to him. "Open it Inu." She said. Inuyasha opened it carefully and looked inside to see........

A cute little puppy. The pup cocked his head at Inuyasha. "Hi! My names Yukan. How's it going?" Inuyasha's eyes widened to saucers, hearing a young child like voice. "Did you just-" "Yep I did! I can talk to you telepathically!" Haru smiled. "I see it didn't take long for you two to bond." She said as Inuyasha put Yukan on his lap. "What do you mean?" He asked. Haru grinned. "Well do you remember my summoning animal Meiyo? Well like you and Yukan, I'm bonded to her in a special way. She only trusts and listens to me unless I tell her otherwise. Meiyo is one of my best friends. And eventually you'll be able to summon Yukan from anywhere, and I think in about six months he'll be able to actually talk." She explained. "Awesome!" Inuyasha said. Yukan cocked his head. "Ya know, I think we're gonna be best friends, at least I hope so." Yukan said. Inuyasha patted his head grinning. "You bet!" He said. Shippo hopped of the couch. "I gonna play with my new pranks! See ya later!" He said running out. "Don't cause to much trouble!" Inuyasha called after him as Haru giggled. Then she grabbed Inuyasha's hand. "Hey c'mon, I wanna show you something." she said pulling him with her, Yukan following. Haru lead Inuyasha to a lone dock on a frozen lake, a boat near it frozen. Haru held both Inuyasha's hands as she pulled him on the dock walking backwards. "Haru, what's going on?" Inuyasha asked. Yukan barked in question. "That's what I'd like to know." Haru giggled. "Christmas used to be one of my mothers favorite holidays. But she died the day after the solstice. So she never got a chance to celebrate it one last time with us." Haru said looking down. "What happened?" Inuyasha asked. Haru sighed. "Well it happened during the solstice, my old man was away at the time, but I'll need to tell about our life together for it to make sense......." Flashback My mother was a priestess of a long dead sacred clan, her being the last living clan member until I was born. My mum's name was Din of the Kitsune clan. The clan, unlike others had no fear of the tailed beasts, but were infect respected by them. My mother could easily reason with them and keep the villages safe in return. Eventually my mum met my father. He was badly injured and she nursed him back to health. Eventually one thing led to another and they got together. The clan had approved since my father meant no harm. And then I came into the world, and my mom told me my clan had rejoiced, they thought I could represent a world where bijuu and people could live in peace. After that came my sister. But then, when I was three a black monster massacred the clan. I only remember a lot of blood and a dark shadow with pointy teeth and sickly golden eyes. And that was the end of my clan, a clan I barely knew. Two years later we were living near a village in a tree home like the one I live in now. But they hated us, me the most. For a few more years we lived in a unbearable tolerance of one another. But when I was ten, my sister was nine, it was during the solstice.....my birthday. I was human, as I always am on that day, my father was away at the time, getting the birthday present him and mom had made for me. The village attacked our home, setting the tree on fire. My mom fought them off the best the could while I tried to protect my sister. But just as the sun set, ending the solstice, they......they ran my mother through. I tried to save, but she died in my arms. "Haru! Do something! Save her!" My sister said. I just sobbed and shook my head....helpless. Mum stroked my cheek with her bloody hand and smiled at me. "My little girl, you've always been so strong for us. Don't let them win, keep fighting, make friends, fined love and stay strong. I'll always be watching over you." she said putting a the seed to the home tree in my hand. The last one. "Happy Birthday, Haru." Was the last thing she said before the light left her eyes. "Mother! Mother! Mum! No please no! Come back! Don't die on me please! Please don't leave us! Mom!" I sobbed. The sun then finally set, and my demon blood return, bringing with it rage. My inner demon awakened as those bastards surrounded us. I screamed, or practically roared, in pure rage and sorrow. Next thing I know, all of them are dead and their blood covered me and my claws. I killed them all. At that moment, the person I hated most was......myself. End of Flashback Inuyasha stared at Haru in shock. He could barely imagine it. He then stared at her in understanding, knowing what that was like. "That same night I received Fokkusu, the Fox's fang. Father told me that the sword would keep my mother close to me always. After that, I wandered the world weary of any humans I'd meet. Then decades later I met the Uzumaki's finding my father and meeting my aunt in the process." Haru finished. She looked at Inuyasha, tears streaking down her cheeks. Inuyasha hugged her. "I'm sorry." He said. Haru looked at him and smiled. "No, I'm glad I told you." She said as he wiped her tears. Yukan whined. "Kind've like you right Inu?" He asked. Haru sighed. "So since then I do this every year on Christmas." She said getting into the frozen boat. Haru then made a few hand signs and touch the frozen lake. Suddenly, as if her hands had the suns warmth, the ice melted spreading from her hand to the whole lake. Haru turned to Inuyasha and Yukan sitting down. "Well c'mon." she said. Yukan jumped in and Inuyasha grabbed the row getting in, taking note that the boat was like the normal rowboats in the fuedal era. He began to row them to middle of the lake, he watched as Haru spread cherry blossoms as they went. When they to the middle Haru produced a lantern out of what seemed like no where she lit the candle then placed it in the lake, it had a pattern of a red fox surrounding a blue woman protectively with two purple children. Must represent Haru's family. Inuyasha thought. He looked at Haru to see her smiling at the lantern. He furrowed his brow. We're so much alike, yet so different to. After all she's been threw, she can still pull off that beautiful smile. He then looked at Yukam who was smirking. Inuyasha glared at him. Don't even think it flea bag. Said dog rolled his eyes. "Alright Inuyasha, let's head back. We can get some Ichiraku's too." Haru said. Inuyasha nodded. "Sure. Hey Haru? Is this like a memorial to your mother? Is that why you do this every year?" He asked. Haru nodded. "Yeah. This how I know, she's at peace. Because I keep her memory alive. My mother wouldn't want me to be filled with grief and anger due to her death. It took awhile, but eventually I excepted it. And besides, if things hadn't gone the way they gave, I may never have met my friends, or you Inuyasha." She said smiling at him. Inuyasha let out a soft gasp in surprise. He hadn't expected that, even after everything. Haru gave him a soft smile that made his heart flutter. Then he gave a soft smile, only ever meant for her. "Haru, I......I'm glad I met you." He said. Haru's smile widened into a grin. "Me too." She said as the reached the small dock. Inuyasha got off still holding the rower, with Yukan. Haru went it get off, but her foot caught on the dock tripping her. She fell into Inuyasha, who caught her with his right arm his left still hold the rower. She look up at him, holding her breath at how close they were. Inuyasha stared at her, his heart pounding making him breathless. The world seemed to slow as the stared at one another, hearts racing. The wind blow, playing with their long locks. The sun had started to set and it's light shone on them. Yukan covered his eyes with his paws, knowing what was coming. In Inuyasha's eyes, the sun outlined Haru's already beautiful features. She seemed more breath taking then ever. I...I can't......hold back anymore. And with that thought in mind, he dropped the rower and pulled her closer, bringing her lips to his. Haru gasped as their lips met, and she shut her eyes. She could feel Inuyasha's passion in his lips, as his arms encircled around her holding her close as if she'd disappear. Haru returned his passion with her own, wrapping one arm around his neck and cupping his check with her other hand. Neither knew how long their lips held one another, but eventually the need for air came and their lips separated but they still held each. Then, Inuyasha said the four words he held in his heart for a long time, perhaps since he first gaze upon her. "I love you Haru." Haru gasped and looked at him wide eyed. Then after a moment she grinned. "I love you too, Inuyasha." She said. Inuyasha gave her a goofy grin and captured her lips again. "I've waited so long to tell you how I felt Haru. Too long." He said. Haru looked down. "Me too, I just...didn't want to tear you apart anymore then you already were. Between Sunõ, Kikyo, Kagome.....and me. I'm sorry, I just didn't want you to get hurt." She said. Inuyasha gently grabbed her chin with his fingers and made her look at him. "Haru, I've already made my choice. I love you. Sure I'll never forget Kikyo or Sunõ, but they're the past. And Kagome is just a friend to me now anyway. Haru, I chose you. And I'll always choose you, and I always will. You and only you Haru." Inuyasha said. Haru smiled he brought into a hug, not wanting to let go. "Inuyasha, thank you for everything." She said. Inuyasha smiled. "Repay me by staying by my side...forever." He said. Haru nodded against his shoulder. "Always, Inuyasha, always." She giggled. Inuyasha looked at Yukan who still had his paws over his eyes. Haru giggled at Yukan. "You can open your eyes now." Inuyasha said. Yukan gave them a sheepish look. Inuyasha shook his head smiling and took Haru's hand and walked back home, with her and Yukan. Inuyasha smiled to himself at the thought. Home. I have a home here. If and when I go back to the Feudal Era, I hope Haru will come with me. She and her friends, hell even Sesshomaru, make Konoha feel like home.
