Christmas break was approaching quickly, and the gossip about what the students were doing on their break hyped up. Albus had planned on taking Minerva to his old family cabin up north in the middle of the woods. He planned for house elves to prepare a fancy meal in his quarters, by the fire and tell her over dinner.
All the classes had finished for the day. The last classes before christmas break. They were always the rowdiest, and exhausted Minerva. She let out a sigh of relief as the last student filed out of her classroom, and began to gather her things. She wanted a quiet night, by the fire with Albus. Just as she was about too leave an owl came soaring into the classroom and dropped a letter right infront of her on her desk. She furrowed her brow and picked the letter up. As soon as she read the front
'Minnie'
She knew it was Albus. She grinned too herself and ripped open the letter, and carefully slid the piece of parchment out of the envelope.
Dear Minnie,
I would solemnly enjoy if you could come too my chambers tonight at 8:30 and join me for a late dinner.
Albus
She smiled to herself shaking her head slightly. Packing up her things and straightening out her desk, Minerva was finally ready too leave. She closed the classroom door behind her locked it, headed for her quarters. She put all her stuff away and sat down for a minute before getting ready for dinner with Albus. She changed out of her school robes into a nice red evening dress, with long sleeves and a dipped back. She tied her hair in a loose beehive and applied minimal makeup, deciding on a simple pair if diamond earings that she inherited from her mother, and she was ready too go. She slid on a simple pair of black pumps and looked herself over in the mirror before leaving. It was 8:15 which means the teachers stay in their chambers, just in case Minerva slowly opens her door and peeks her head out checking for anyone. When the coast was clear she slid out and closed the door quietly behind her. She quickly walked down the corridors and approached Albus' chambers, she whispered the password and the gargoyle jumped out the way for her too enter she climbed the stairs and knocked on the door leading into Albus's private chambers. She waited a few moments and then heard the twist of the knob and Albus swung open the door. His mouth dropped as he looked Minerva up and down. He was absolutely mind blown, she looked stunning. Minerva stood blushing as he looked her over.
"Min, My god..." Is all he managed to spit out. Minerva chuckled leaning in too kiss his cheek. She brushed past him taking a look at what he had set up in the middle of his drawing room. She let out a little gasp, he had a round table with a bottle of wine chilling in a pitcher in the middle, 2 candles lit on either sides of it. 2 red velvet place mats where set at each end of the table, on them golden cutlery and plate. She looked back at him and smiled widely. Albus had 2 golden goblets in his hands for the wine, he even had some of Minerva's favourite muggle music playing on the turn table which added to the mood. Albus handed her one goblet and headed for the chilling wine, he popped the cork and poured the liquor into her cup then his. They both sat awaiting the meal that would be served by the house elves.
"I must say Albus...You have out done yourself with this one..." Minerva said shooting him a wink. He blushed slightly then smiled at her. They clunked goblets and took a sip of wine, not long after the elves filed in serving dinner. Albus had decided on a nice ham and assortment of vegetables, mashed potatoes, fresh baked dinner roles and cranberry sauce. The smell of the food was heavenly, and it looked amazing. Without hesitation the pair filled their plates with food, topped of the wine and talk, laughed overall having a good time.
"Min.." Albus asked seriously. Minerva looked at him and nodded taking a sip of wine.
"well...I have a cabin up north. And I thought it would be a good idea for us too go there for christmas break." He said smiling at her. Minerva's eyes lit up and she smiled widely.
"Aw, of course! I would love too." She answered taking another sip of wine. She had never left Hogwarts for Christmas before so she was overly excited.
The night went on and marvellous desserts and cocktails were served. Conversations roared on covering every topic. Albus started to wrap things up with dinner and the couple sat cuddled together on the couch infront of the fire. Minerva's favourite muggle song, Where or When by The Flamingo's was playing softly on the record player. Minerva looked up at Albus and smiled, she had never loved someone like she did Albus, or been loved in return like the way her loved her. She was the happiest she had ever been in her entire life, everything was going great, and she was overjoyed about spending christmas with Albus in a seclude get away. Albus looked down at her and smiled, placing a soft kiss on her lips.
"What are you thinking..." He asked tucking a piece of loose hair behind her ear.
"About us.." she said simply. Albus smiled and pulled her closer into him. They stayed like that for atleast 2 hours making small talk and staring at the fire, before deciding too go to bed.
"I will see you tomorrow.." Minerva said softly, kissing him goodnight. Albus frowned slightly before she turned to leave. She chuckled and kissed him again.
"We are going to spend a whole week alone together, I'm sure you can make it through one night." She said dusting off his shoulders.
"Okay..." He groaned. She smiled and pecked his cheek reaching for the door handle. Minerva turned back too him
"Thank you for Dinner Albus. I really enjoyed it." She said solemnly he kissed her again then She slid out of his chambers and started down the hallway, she turned back and looked at Albus. He had the biggest sad eyes she had ever seen, letting out a hearty chuckle she waved then blew him a kiss before disappearing around the corner. Albus sighed and brushed through his beard."I definitely love that woman..." He said to himself before returning to his room.
