April's POV
“Noona! Hurry wake up!” I feel my bed starts to shake as the boy keeps jumping on it, trying to wake me up.
“I’m awake, Kang Soo-yah. Stop jumping or I’m gonna lose my bed,” I mumble while looking at the clock. Ahh… still a few hours before work, but I had to take this brat to school.
Kang Soo takes his place beside me, waiting for me to get my lazy ass up. While trying to open up my sleepy eyes widely, I look at his innocent excited face.
Kang Soo is my younger brother whom I love more than my life. I’ve always felt grateful that Kang Soo is an amazingly independent 4 year old boy. Despite his young age, he knows exactly the hardship we’ve been through after our parents left us with nothing but debts- which I've been trying so hard to settle, and also this modest, cozy ground house for us to live in.
The house is a great thing though. I’m actually very grateful for it, at least we had home. Home where everything sweet and fond once happened here, in our family. Home to remind us that we're not always bad, we're once really happy too.
I pinched his small nose playfully. He growled, “Hurry! I don’t wanna be late for school!” Kang Soo shouted while walking through the hallway. I growl and walk to the bathroom to prepare myself up. We need to take about 15 minute walk to Kang Soo's kindergarten first before I head to work. I don't wanna be late, it's first day after all.
Even it’s just a barista, I’m quite surprised I got accepted because they demanded many things in the qualification form. I don’t even understand why they are so fussy about hiring merely a cafe barista though.
The cafe was in a building called Big Hit. It's most probably an office building but I don't understand why they had to name it Big Hit- sounds like it was full of hitmans & conmans, or maybe a place of gangs? Hm.
A/n: Another update! Enjoy! XD
