You're being paranoid aren't you?

Just man up and go down there already.

So you wheeze out a breath and start down the stairs.

Soon your feet hit the cold landing and a bead of sweat rolls down your face.

You stand frozen as the Hunter stands above your friend, their guts spilled everywhere, deep crimson blood staining and coating the dark grey floors.

It's the most disgusting and scarring thing you have ever seen.

Then a realization nestles itself deep inside your bones.

It's over.

Your friend is dead, and this game was to save them.

Then the Hunter's attention turns to you and it creeps across the room towards you.

You run.

You turn around and run as fast as you could to the door.

You feel it creep up closer to you, but you push your legs beyond your muscle strenght.

You crash straight out of the door and out on the front lawn.

The bits of wood bite at your arms and legs but you run until you run out to the road.

Oh that beautiful road.

You turn to take one more look at the house that had tormented you. Two piercing eyes stare at you from the doorway but it doesn't matter.

You're alive.

Your friend isn't and that brings tears to your eyes and you let them spill.

You let the sobs wreck your body because you need to let all the emotions simply spill out of your eyes.

The fear.

The anger.

The sadness.

The disappoitment.

The hurt.

The guilt.

Everything.

And when they're all a puddle on the road you feel like a weight fell off your shoulders, it was a great feeling. So you push yourself up by your arms and start stumbling home.

The house is gone.

Your friend is not. They'll lay there, rotting, until someone finds them because you weren't good enough to save them.
