Vampires are descendants of the gods, like werewolves and shapeshifters. They have the longest life span, of 450-500 years. They can shift into a large bat-like form, but not into an ordinary bat. Different vampire marks have adapted to either live in sunlight or moonlight, but not both. Older vampires tend to dislike the other species more, due to ancient wars. Most vampires have a hatred for shifters over grade 15, due to their ability to shift into a vampire-like form, although it is not exact.
Vampires are extremely vulnerable to jimsonweed and are very aware of the risks and pass this information from generation to generation, whilst trying to keep the information from the other species and humans. There is no cure for exposure to jimsonweed. Vampires tend to feed solely off blood, even though they can consume man-made foods. They choose not to eat it because of the lack of trust for humans and the use of chemicals to create such foods.
