Clementines POV
I wake up and rub my eyes, looking around my dormitory.
My roommates aren't awake yet.
I climb out of bed and change into my beauxbaton school uniform.Tomorrow we travel to Hogwarts for the triwizard tournament. I am so very excited! Last week I finally became old enough for the tournament. Of course many girls from the school really want to be apart of the tournament as well but I highly doubt any of them are as determined as I am.
I walk towards the doors that lead outside, but just as I step through the door I'm stopped by the head mistress Madame Olympe Maxime.
"Clementine I would like to speak with you please" she confronts me, I look up at the tall woman.
"Yes madam" I follow her to her office before sitting down infront of her desk.
"I expect you'll be nominating yourself for the triwizard tournament" She pours herself a cup of tea as she speaks.
"Yes madam I will be" I smile excitedly at her, her eyes flicker towards me as she sips on her tea.
"When your parents died your mother told me she didn't want anything to happen to you that could seriously hurt you. The triwizard tournament is very dangerous and you may get hurt I wish for you not to place your name in the nomination." She explains, I almost laugh until I realise she is utterly serious.
"Madam Maxime, you know how skilled I am, how smart I am, how sneaky I can be. I could easily win the tournament. I know you know that." I raise to my feet, I bite my tongue realising how cocky that sounded. She sighs as she stares at me.
"Please make the right decision. Do it for your mother not for me" she dismisses me, I leave the room rolling my eyes. She thinks she can stop me from entering by using the mother trick on me, well she's wrong there.
I head for breakfast instead of my original plan to sit outside, I sit beside my two best friends (Johanna and rose) who are too busy speaking their first language french.
"Morning girls" I nudge them, they stop speaking French and return to English. Don't get me wrong, I speak french, I kind of have too but I struggle. I guess the reason I use magic most is to understand what people are saying.
"Morning Cleo" they both smile back. My nick name is Cleo, it's alright not the best but not the worse. I'm a pure blood luckily so at least I don't get nicknames such as mud blood. Not that being a muggle-born is bad, it's just not that popular.
We eat our breakfast before we go our own ways. Today is Sunday and we don't have any lessons. Me, Johanna and rose are just having a girly day filled with manicures and lots of girl talk not my chosen activity but it keeps the girls happy.
I'm packing for Hogwarts early tonight so I can get to sleep earlier. I've always wanted to go to Hogwarts but my parents never allowed it they wanted me to come here to Beauxbatons academy of magic. My mother was close friends with Madame Olympe Maxime so they knew eachother well that's the only reason I got in. They say I am beautiful as the other girls but it's my hair that changes the situation. Every other girl has a natural colour, it's the rules but I have bright purple hair. I want to be different, to be noticed and my hair defiantly does that. Madame Olympe Maxime has told me off many times for my hair but I blame it on a phase as I recover from my parents death. When we go back up to our room, rose pulls out her mini chest filled with tons of make up.
"Okay what shall we do for you?" She stares at my finger nails, she rummages through her chest to pull out a purple the exact same colour as my hair. Rose spends around twenty minutes on my fingernails and Johanna only spends ten minutes on my toenails.
As I let my nails dry I sit by the window admiring the Beauxbaton grounds.
"What do you think Hogwarts is gonna be like?" I ask, Johanna and rose mutter something in French to eachother before answering my question.
"I don't know Cleo, hopefully theirs a lot of cute boys!" Rose squeaks happily, Johanna rolls her eyes at rose.
"I hope their facilities are good, also I hope they like our introduction routine we've spent hours upon hours practising." Johanna is the type of girl who'd rather do potions than talk to a boy. I laugh at her and shake my head.
"I hope I get picked for the triwizard tournament" I sigh the girls do as well.
"You will" they say in unison.
"But Fleur Delacour is placing her name in what if she gets picked, I'll never here the end of it. Oh guess what Cleo I got it and you didn't, I 'ope you don't feel too bad about it. 'Ere have an 'andkerchief" I mock her voice, my friends glare at me. "Sorry but she just really really annoys me" I tell them
"We know sweetie" Johanna laughs.
I notice that my nails are now dry, I pack for hogwarts which takes me a good few hours especially with the girls messing around like they do.
After dinner we have to practise our introduction again before an early night (or for some a late night because they haven't packed yet).
They know they can use a spell to pack, but it's the picking the clothes that make it hours on end.Later on
I lay in bed and stare up at the ceiling, my mum doesn't want me to get hurt. It's a bit too late for that. I feel tears roll down my cheeks as I think of my mother and fathers accident.
"Cleo? Clem? Are you crying?" Rose asks me, I shake my heads too afraid to speak. Johanna says okay and that's when I finally drift off into a peaceful sleep.
Everyone is awoken in the morning by a loud bell, one of our professors is coming round with a bell getting everyone up. I look at the time.
"It's 7am!" I groan, burying my head into my pillow. Johanna pulls at my sheets muttering about how we all have to get up. I take a shower and dry my hair, I place my school uniform on before heading to the dining hall for breakfast.
I sit down in between rose and Johanna. That morning we practise our routine and our manners. We also go over rules and relegations before loading up the carriage and leaving. It takes a couple painfully slow hours flying in the carriage before we arrive at Hogwarts.
Hogwarts, the school I've always dreamed about.
