Maria: Phil! Dan's here!

Phil gets up and walks downstairs confused as to why Dan would be at his house 3 hours after school had already finished.

Phil: Hi?

Dan: Hi, sorry, I think I forgot my phone charger. Could I go look for it please?

Phil: Yeah sure.

Phil lets Dan in and Dan goes to look for his charger. While Dan is looking for it, Phil notices how unhappy Dan looks. He usually had at least a small smile but today he was just frowning and he looked tired.

Phil: You okay? You look a bit tired.

Dan: *snaps* I'm fine.

Phil: Jeez sorry for asking.

Dan: *sighs* Sorry. I'm just having a bad day. It's not your fault and I shouldn't have snapped.

Phil: What's wrong?

Dan: *hesitates* N-nothing. I can't seem to find my charger so I'll just go. Thanks for letting me check.

Phil: It's fine.

Phil walked with Dan back downstairs and as Dan is about to leave, Maria popped out of the kitchen.

Maria: You can stay for dinner if you'd like.

Dan: I wouldn't want to intrude.

Maria: Please, you wouldn't be. Jenn always makes too much food anyway.

Dan: Ok. Thank you.

Maria: You can go back up to Phil's room if you'd like. I'll call you when food is ready.

Dan nods and they both go back up to Phil's room. Phil turns on the tv and they both watch some anime. Phil's phone goes off and he sees that it's Connor. They exchanged numbers in school today.

Phil: Hello?

Connor: Hi, sorry. I was just wondering how the HELL am I meant to do this French homework.

Phil: Yikes. I don't know, I'm not that great at French. When is it in by?

Connor: Friday.

Phil: Okay, I'll help you tomorrow?

Connor: We won't have time in school though.

Phil: Um, you can come over after school tomorrow if you want. I'm sure my mums won't mind.

Connor: You have two mums?!

Phil: Yeah...?

Connor: That is so cool! Are you sure I can come over?

Phil: *laughs* It's fine!

Connor: Ok bye Philly.

Phil: Ew, don't call me that.

Connor: Consider if your new nickname. Bye.

Connor hangs up and Phil laughs a bit. Connor is so odd.

Dan: Who was that?

Phil: Just Connor.

Dan: Oh yeah. He's the new boy isn't he? Did you become friends?

Phil: Yeah, he's really nice.

Dan: *nods* Pj had a few words to say about him today. Did something happen?

Phil: Pj started bothering me but then he called Connor a fag and Connor got really mad at him. Connor started shouting at him for being a dickhead and how gay isn't an insult and all that. Connor told him that he is gay so it's not funny to him.

Dan: Connor's gay?

Phil: Yes. Do you have a problem with that?

Dan: No of course not.

Phil: Ok good.

Maria: BOYS! FOOD IS READY!
