Dan grabbed Phil's arm quickly and stopped him from falling any further. He carried Phil down the stairs carefully and put him on the couch. Dan put his hands through his hair in frustration. What was he going to do now? Phil passed out. In his house. What if someone came home? He should take Phil home, Maria would probably be better in this situation than Dan.

Dan carried Phil to his car and put him in the passenger seat. He drove Phil back to his house and left Phil in the car while he went to knock the door. Maria opened it.

Maria: *confused* Hi Dan. Shouldn't you be in school?

Dan: Yeah but there's a passed out Phil in my car and I don't really know what to do.

Maria: *worried* Why did he pass out?

Dan: I'll tell you once we get him out of my car and into a bed or something.

Maria nods and helps Dan get Phil out of the car. Maria took Phil up to his room and put him on his bed. Then she went back downstairs to where Dan was.

Maria: So what happened? He's got more bruises again.

Dan: I came over here yesterday, which you already know, to tell him that Pj was going to hurt him. Phil made Pj look like an idiot in front of the school and Pj wanted Phil to pay for it. So lunch time Phil was in the bathroom and Pj started hitting him but then he...

Maria: ...yes?

Dan: I-I think Pj tried to rape Phil.

Maria: *wide-eyed* What happened then?

Dan: I threw Pj out and then I took Phil back to my house because he didn't want you to worry. We went upstairs because I needed to get the first aid kit but then when we were walking down the stairs he passed out. I caught him so he didn't fully fall down the stairs but then I didn't know what to do so I brought him here.

Maria: *nods* You did the right thing bringing him here. So what's going to happen now with Pj?

Dan: He's not going to drop it. He said that it wasn't the last he's seen of him.

Maria: Maybe I should call the school. This bullying has been taken way too far now. Also, I need to have a word with you Dan.

Dan: *confused* Why?

Maria: I promise you that Phil didn't do it to be mean, but Phil told us about your home issues.

Dan: *worried* What home issues?

Maria: Sweetie, you don't need to lie. So I called your mum today to see if we could arrange anything so you don't have to be at home as much.

Dan: And...?

Maria: You'll be living with us for a while. Your mum is sorting out a divorce with your father and then he won't be in the house anymore. You can move back there once it's all settled.

Dan: A-Are you sure?

Maria: *smiles* Absolutely.

Dan stands up and goes towards where Maria is sitting. He hugs her with tears in his eyes.

Dan: Thank you.
